Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon
Boardman City Council
appointed Cullen Martin
to the Boardman Planning
Commission, filling one
of two vacancies on the
commission. He will serve
a three-year term ending
December 31, 2012.
Mr. Martin has
lived in Boardman since
2000. He is a 2006 River
side High School graduate
and is currently attending
Portland State University
online, studying business
science. He is interested
in public service and has
a desire to see Boardman
grow to its potential.
The planning com
mission is comprised of
seven members appointed
by the city council and is a
permanent advisory body
related to planning and
development. The commis
sion holds monthly public
meetings to consider land
use and zoning matters
presented by staff, such
as plan amendments, zone
changes and amendments,
conditional use permits,
variances and tentative sub
division projects. Meetings
are the third Wednesday
of each month at 7 p.m. at
Boardman City Hall.
Currently the Plan
ning Commission has one
vacancy. Interested parties
must be adult residents of
the City of Boardman and
be willing to commit to the
monthly meetings.
For more informa
tion, contact Boardman
City Hall at 481-9252.

classroom settings (such as
hallways, restrooms).
Positive behavior
support is an application of
a behaviorally-based sys-
tems approach to enhance
the capacity of schools,
families, and communities
to design effective environ
ments that improve the link
- THREE
ments in which teaching
and learning occurs. At
tention is focused on creat
ing and sustaining primary
(school-wide), secondary
(classroom), and tertiary
(individual) systems of sup
port that improve lifestyle
results (personal, health,
social, family, work, rec
reation) for all children
and youth by making prob
lem behavior less effec
tive, efficient, and relevant,
and desired behavior more
functional.
The goals for PBS
are to reduce and elimi
nate disruptive behaviors,
maintain a safe and positive
learning environment for all
students and restore com
munication between home
and school.
