Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, May 20, 2009 - SEVEN Heppner teens recognized by theatre scout Kolleen Chapa and Zech Hintz On Sunday eve ning, May 10, after the last performance o f the H eppner High School Drama’s performance of “A Broadway Review,” a professional theatre scout from The C ove nant Players approached Zech Hintz and Kolleen Chapa. The C ovenant Players is a traveling theatre troop that visits com m unities and per forms mostly in churches, but for public events as well. The northwest team leader approached Hintz, a freshman at HHS, and presented him w ith a card. She encouraged him to contact them after graduation, she was very impressed with his tal ent. She then asked him about the actress who played Eponine in Les M iserables during the performance. When she learned it was Chapa, a sophom ore at HHS, she searched through the crowd and presented her with com plim ents and her card. She also was encouraged to call them when she was ready to graduate. “ Both the kids are flying on cloud nine, to say the least,” Coach Jodi Chapa stated. “All the kids did an awesome job. It was the biggest play we have ever done and seemed to be widely accepted by our audienc es. The drama program really is an important part of our community. I was told recently that due to budget cuts, our spring program may be cut com pletely this year. We per form two times a year and I have about 12-25 kids who perform each play. It is a very active program and with a community so supportive of sports, I hope they can support our program as well. All or our players’ props, scen ery, costumes, scripts and music are paid for strictly by our fundraising efforts and donations during our performances.” - I r r ig o n F ire Dept, received report of someone burning tires The Morrow in Irrigon. No problem here. But what do you do if the buyer wants possession before settle ment? Be careful! Once a buyer has possession of your house, you may find that all of a sudden — he is not in such a big hurry to close. He may claim that all sorts of things are wrong with the house and may insist they be corrected before passing papers, or even worse, may decide that he does not want the property at all. S Y K E S If you must allow the buyer to occupy before settlement, be sure that he agrees to pay a certain amount each day up to the closing to cover, at least, the amount you pay each day for taxes, insurance, and interest the buyer would be paying on the new loan. The best policy is not to allow the buyer to move in prior to settlement. If you have no choice, try to have the closing date moved ahead to coincide with his need for the property.
