Oregon East Symphony’s “Red, White, and KT’S Bunny Barn takes home top awards Blue Jeans Bash” fundraiser to be held Pictured in the top photo are The O regon East Symphony will hold their annual “ Red, W hite, and Blue Jeans Bash" on Satur day, February 7, beginning at 6 p.m. at Hamley’s Slick- fork Saloon. The evening begins with drinks and music by the Capelli String Quartet. An old-fashioned Hamley’s BBQ buffet will be served, follow ed by an exciting live auction. Auction items include getaway packages, jewelry, wine, and an amaz ing collection of original art. After the auction, kick up your heels into the evening with Pendleton’s own Blue Pass bluegrass ensem ble, featuring Emily and Isaac Callender. “This event features a wonderful combination of food, drink, and music, all set in a wonderful locale at Ham leys,” says OES Execu tive Director, Christina van der Kamp, “This is our larg est fundraiser of the season, and we hope to see everyone out to support their local symphony and our youth programs.” Tickets are on sale through Monday, February 2, and are available at the Oregon East Symphony of fice (lower floor of the Vert Auditorium) or at Armchair Books (3d SW D orion). Tickets are S35 per person, which includes food, enter tainment and a free drink. Tellechea and Renfro showed their mini rex last year from the Oregon Coast all the way back to Louisville, K Y. They traveled two or three weekends a month showing. The title o f “ The Herd” was given to the new stu d en t sectio n by boys basketball head coach Dave N orton. The hope is that giving the students a cen tralized place to cheer will increase participation and school spirit. The technology de partment created the stickers that were placed on the wall below the mustang artwork that w as d o n ated to the school. Hopefully this will start a new tradition that will carry over into years to come.
