Help light up
Heppner for
the Christmas
holidays
It’s that time again
to help get Heppner ready
for Christmas and what bet
ter way than to volunteer a
few hours helping the Hep
pner High School students
put the lights up in the trees
on Tuesday, November 25,
beginning at 3:30 p.m.
The Heppner Cham
ber o f Commerce is asking
for community involvement
to get this done. Due to
weather conditions last year,
most o f the strands of clear
lights were ruined and no
longer working. The Cham
ber asks anyone who would
like to buy a strand or two of
lights for $3 a strand to help
reimburse the Chamber for
the cost o f the lights. Dona
tions o f strands o f 100 clear
lights will also be gratefully
accepted.
Check your calendar
and let the Chamber office
know if they can count
on your help on Tuesday,
November 25, to get Hep
pner ready to light up for
the holidays. The more, the
merrier. Call the Chamber
office today at 676-5536 to
volunteer or buy a strand of
lights.

The portion o f the
property to be initially de
veloped lies within the city
limits, so the city planning
commission put conditions
on the approval. Those con
ditions were:
1. D edicate the internal
street as a city street at a
width o f 52 feet and build
certain components (curbs,
sidewalks and utility strips)
in phases as agreed upon
with the city.
2. Streets, water lines, sewer
lines and storm water catch
ment basins will be built to
City o f Heppner standards.
City staff was also
instructed to meet later with
Robinson to work out details
of the road construction and
maintenance responsibilities
on the subdivision. A gravel
road will initially be allowed
in to service development in
the area, with road upgrades
to come later.
Each day, students

wore pink for breast cancer

light blue for prostate can

was black for melanoma

was lavender for cancer
survivors.
