Results are as follows: May 27 Low gross o f the field was Pat Edmundson with a score o f 40. Low net of the field was Lorrene Montgomery with a score o f 28. Flight A winners were: Corol Mitchell, low gross; Karen Thompson, low net; and Betty Christman and Loa Heideman tied for least putts. Flight B w inners were: Lynnea Sargent, low gross; Luvilla Sonstegard, low net; and Pat Dougherty, Least Putts. Bobby Steiner Bobby Steiner, the head teaching professional at The Westin Mission Hills Pete Dye Resort in Rancho Mirage, CA, and the author o f “Munie” and “Golf, Heart and Soul,” a weekly instruction column, will be holding a morning and afternoon golf clinic at Willow Creek Country Club, Friday, June 6. This summer Bobby has a Golfpac Travel and G olf Show, in Florida, airing on Sun Sports Television, and is the Teaching Pro at Sagamore G olf Club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, in Indianapolis. In addition to teaching golf, Bobby has a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and has been the win ner o f numerous martial art championships on the local, state and national levels. Willow Creek Water Park to open for summer season Morrow/Gilliam Counties Wheat Growers golf scramble to be held for 18+ years. Family swim is $ 14 for immediate family only, up to five people. Individual passes are $75 and family passes are $140 for the season. Swim lessons are $35 for a two week session ($5 discount with a pass). Private pool parties are available. Rauch selected for All Star games Willow Creek Water Park closed for training The Willow Creek Water Park will be closed on Monday, June 9, for training. Boardman Thunder Run and Walk to be held Runners and walk ers from around the Pacific N orthw est will gather on Ju ly 4 at the B oardm an Thunder Run and Walk. Or ganized as a 5K and 10K run and 5K walk, rain or shine, participants will leave the starting gate at 8 a.m. The course offers a c h allen g e to even the m ost experienced runner as participants race along the shores o f the Columbia R iver and through dense growth areas on groomed paths. Walkers too will find the course is ready-m ade for fun, a good workout and an opportunity to enjoy the trails and paths along the Columbia River. In the past we have had over 70 participants. The organizers are expect ing increased participation this year as Boardm an is gearing up for a great 4th o f July celebration. Winners will be recognized in every age group. Heppner Methodist Women to hold annual Indoor Yard Sale On Saturday, June 9th, the Heppner Methodist Women will once again hold their annual Indoor Yard Sale. The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the basement o f the Heppner Methodist Church. There will be lots o f bargains, but no early sales. In previous years, there has been an excellent selection o f gently used goods including exercise equip ment, linens, kitchen and household items as well as a good selection o f tools. It is expected that we will have as large and as varied a selection again this year. There also will be many miscellaneous items that are too numerous to mention. Money from this sale is used for youth programs, repairs and refurbishment o f the manse as well as other church needs that are not in the budget. The Heppner Methodist women really appreciate all the support that is received from our community. Come check us out on Saturday, June 9. For the best selections, be sure to plan on being at the church when the doors open at 9 a.m. HHS Civics Club to hold fund- raiser for Washington D.C. trip By Maggie Armato Andre Rauch was recently selected for the 1 A, 2A, and 3A All Star baseball games. The games will be held on Saturday and Sunday, June 7 and 8, at Linfield College. On Saturday there will be two, nine inning games beginning at 4 p.m. On Sunday there will one, nine inning game at noon. Heppner High School’s Civics Club is planning a trip to Washington D.C. On Saturday, June 7, the Civics Club will be holding a car wash in the Les Schwab parking lot from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The raised funds will go toward the Washington D.C. trip this January, where the Civics Club will attend the presidential inauguration. Also on June 13 and 14, starting at 9 a.m., the Civics Club will host a garage sale on Main Street near the Heritage Land Company Office and Heppner Family Foods. All support for this once-in-a-lifetime trip will be greatly appreciated.
