recently recognized by the
Oregon Hospice Association
as Volunteer Coordinator o f
the Year.
Cyde has served as
the Volunteer Coordinator
for Pioneer Memorial Hos­
pice since August o f 2003.
P io n eer M em orial H o s­
pice provides palliative care
for term inally ill patients
th ro u g h o u t M orrow and
Gilliam counties, mostly in
their places o f residence,
and has more than 30 trained
volunteers throughout the
two counties.

in January 2004 and has

Ballard has released the fol­
lowing report:
-Marvin A. Pourier,
43, was convicted of posses­
sion o f a methamphetamine,
a class C felony and was
sentenced to 90 sanction
units with 30 jail units, 18
months supervised proba­
tion, six months d riv e r’s
license suspension, 80 hours
o f community service, other
numerous conditions, and
pay $ 1,788 in fines, fees and
assessments.

Ledoux, 54, was convicted
o f theft in the second degree,
a class A misdemeanor and
was sentenced to 180 days in
jail with 180 days suspend­
ed, 18 months bench proba­

pay $988 in fines, fees and
assessments.
Pinochle players

Morrow SWCD Board meeting to
be held
The Morrow SWCD Board will meet Tuesday,
March 4, at 5 p.m. at the Ag Service Building in Hep­
pner.
Agenda items include: minutes o f February meet­
ing, treasurer’s report, written staff report, OACD Dues,
08-09 budget, WFD, partner agency reports. Meetings of
the Morrow SWCD are open to the public.

Klynn Marie McNamee - Abe and Kristi Mc-
Namee o f Irrigon announce the birth of their daughter,
Klynn Marie McNamee, on Thursday, January 31, 2008,
at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Pendleton.
At birth, she weighed eight pounds, four ounces
and was 20 Vi inches in length.
Grandparents are Pat and Vickie McNamee o f Ir­
rigon and Bob and Pam Worden o f Heppner.
Great-grandparents are Wilbur and Rita Worden of
Hermiston, Richard and Grace Morin of Portland, and Jo

“I need help" was a common phrase heard when
members o f Erin Heideman's crop science class made
presentations to the lone grade school students last
week. The crops class was responsible for creating a les­
son plan related to agriculture that included a “teacher'
outline, handouts, worksheet and an activity. “ It was
fun to get to do. I didn’t know I would like teaching so
much,” said high school junior J.J. Dixson.
