Willow Creek Lake to host National Public Lands Day Willow Creek Lake near Heppner, part of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers The Dallcs-John Day-Wil low Creek Project, will par ticipate in the 14th Annual National Public Lands Day, Saturday, September 22. Nationwide, over 100,000 Americans of all ages are expected to partici pate in this national effort, volunteering their time and effort to help restore the beauty and v itality of our public lands. Projects scheduled in Hepppner include con struction of an improved trailhead and turn out at the Cowins Street Trailhead of the Zig Zag Trail, trail im provements and lot striping and handicap access parking near the boat ramp at Willow Creek Park.
