Wednesday August 8. 2007 - Page 13 Puckett Family to perform their magic The Puckett Family will be at the Morrow County Fair to perform their magic. “Children and adults will be held captive while lessons are revealed," said a fair spokes person. “The family has performed across the nation and throughout the world. Their magic show will combine showmanship and illusion to vividly illustrate powerful principles in an entertaining manner." The family consists o f Mr. Puckett and his two teen age boys. They will be performing two half-hour shows on stage at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. and they will walk around from 2:30 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15..Everyone is inv ited to see some “fun and memorable family entertainment.” Story time, book, bake sale set during fair week A story time will be held on Wednesday and Thurs day during fair week for children o f all ages from noon to 1 p.m. A place will be set up in the open area between the restrooms and the 4-H barn near the food booths for those who would like to take a break and enjoy short stories read by members o f the Friends o f the Heppner Library. Davis started out singing country music but one o f the most popular parts o f hi show has always been the western music segment. (For those who don’t know the dif ference: country is what you hear on the radio currently. It's the nation's favorite and most listened-to music. Western tells the story o f the Old West and the Silv er Screen Cow boy...Gene, Roy and the Sons o f the Pioneers). Everyone is invited to the Wine and Micro-Beer Tasting for a nostalgic trip through time...back to when the good guys wore white hats, kissed their ponies instead o f the girls, headed the bad guys off at the pass and always caught'em in the end! All without mussing up their rhine stone and fringed shirt, and then riding off into the sunset. See you all there at 7:45 p.m. Davis w ill also perform earlier that day at l :30 p.m. In memory o f Jane Rawlins, a long time fair exhibitor and supporter, the Morrow County Fair Board will present the Jane Rawl ins Memorial Aw ard for the Best Arrangement. Raw lins exhibited in the Flower Department for many years, was a fair superintendent, served on the Fair Committee, was the first woman appointed to the Fair Board and served many years as a merit rater for the Oregon Fair Association and county fairs in the state. Two-year-old quarter horse to be auction K evin and A ngie Hughes o f Heppner have donated a two-year-old reg istered quarter horse filly, “ Snooty Sue,” to be auc tioned o ff during Oregon Trail Rodeo slack Thursday, August 15. Proceeds will benefit the Heppner High School FFA program. The filly’s sire, Bi- ankus on Deck is the off spring o f Captain Biankus, from Biankus and Bella Jo Bank, and Miss Smashaway from Easily Smashed and M ulberry Mist. Her dam. Macho Snooty Sue, is the offspring o f Macho Devil, from Mr. Go D evil and Petite Sirah and Ms Snooty Bars, from Smooth Move and Miss Barbie Bars. “Horses out o f this stud have excelled continu ously in the rodeo arena as far as barrel racing, roping and ranch work,” said Angie Hughes. ‘This filly w ill grow into being a very versatile, wee-rounded horse, good tempered and very gentle and easy to handle.” “She is just a well-bred fillie that is smart, trainable and athletic.
