OLCC distributes spirits revenue The Oregon Liquor Control Commission sent S 151,247 for May to Baker, G rant, Harney, M alheur, Morrow, Umatilla, Union, and Wallowa counties and their 52 cities in the total statew ide distilled spirits revenue distribution o f $ 11.1 million. The OLCC follows a per-capita d istrib u tio n formula based on Oregon's population of 3.60 million. For May it was 28.5 cents per person for counties; 82 cents a person for cities. The breakdown was: 36 coun ties, 10 percent, $1.05 mil lion; 241 cities, 20 percent, $2.1 million; state general fund, 56 percent, $5.0 mil lion; city revenue sharing account, 14 percent, $1.47 million; state Addiction and M ental H ealth D ivision, $570,045; and Oregon Wine Board, $17,864. OLCC revenue is derived from the sale o f distilled spirits in 241 li quor stores, taxes on malt beverages and w ine, license fees, and fines for liquor law violations. Last m o n th 's revenue share was $10.0 million. The OLCC collects privilege taxes o f $2.60 for a 31-gallon barrel o f malt beverage, 67 cents a gal lon for taxable wine with an alcohol content o f 14 percent or under and 77 cents on taxable wine over 14 percent. O f that, 2 cents a gallon goes to the Oregon Wine Board to fund research and promotion.
