The correct time that the club meets on Mondays is from 3:15-4:15 p.m. Anyone with knowledge of the game of chess and willing to teach that knowledge to children is asked to contact Mary Ann Elguezabal at 676-9 1 2 8 for m ore information on volunteering. The club is currently made up of approximately 60 children. Twenty-five of those m em bers are beginners. In December, the board meeting will go back to the first Monday of the month, Monday, Dec. 4. at 6 p.m. Booster Club Gingerbread Corrections: dates for the meeting set decorating class Willow The Creek D iner’s and The Heppner Jr./Sr. the Heppner C ham ber o f for local children High School Booster Club Willow Creek Diner and the Heppner Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring a G in g erb read H ouse decorating class for kids, ages 3-18. The charge per child will be 50 cents to cover the cost of the house "shell.” If your child cannot afford the 50 cents, see Terry at the Chamber. Class size will be limited to 40 kids on a first come, first served basis. Signup sheets are located at W illow Creek D iner and the C ham ber office. Dates are Sunday, Nov. 26, from 12-6 p.m., and Monday, Nov. 27, from 4-6 p.m. Each day will be broken down to one and a half-hour sessions. Children 3-6 must have a guardian stay with them during the decorating process. The house “shells” will be pre-made so all the ch ild re n have to do is decorate them. The sponsors w ill provide basic candy for decorations, so any novelty edibles must be provided by the child. Deadline for sign up is Friday, Nov. 17. The prime rib dinner and Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament planned to b en efit Kya Taylor, and her parents, will be held Friday, Nov. 17, at the Legion Hall in lone starting at 6 p.m. Dinner will cost $15. There will also be a hot dog meal for kids for $5. If you might be coming for the dinner, leave a RSVP message at 422-7025. m eeting w ill be held on Wednesday, N ovem bers, in the Home-Ec room at 7 p.m. Agenda items are elections o f officers, and the final report on the auction. Also any comments, suggestions, ideas for next year or in general are welcome. Christian Life Center to host speaker G uest sp eak er Timothy Oliver, missionary to Utah, will speak at the H ep p n er C h ristian Life C en ter, 535 W. M organ Street, on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Oliver will discuss how' and why he converted from Mormonism. The public is invited to attend.
