Portland area on Sept. 6 to
experience the route wheat
takes once it leaves the
co u n try grain elev ato r.

Building in Portland, which
houses the offices of the

US Wheat Associates and

Wheat Commission office.
Each stop was informative
and e n lig h te n in g as the
various aspects of the wheat
industry were explained.

Booster Club will be holding
a steak feed and auction on
Saturday, O ct. 14 at the
Heppner Elks Lodge. The
dinner will begin at 6 p.m.,
with the auction starting at
8 p.m.
Tickets are on sale
for the dinner at Hollomon’s
and MCGG. The cost for the
meal is $10 and includes
steak, potato, salad, bread

to the terminal elevators,
visited the grain-cleaning
facility; and watched again as
grain was being loaded onto
a ship headed overseas.

tour of the port facility by
John Akre.

Heppner road revisions to begin
Sept. 28
Beginning Sept. 28, the traffic flow to and from
Heppner High School will be changing. The changes will
be as follows: Spruce Lane will become a one-way street
leading up to the school and Morgan Street will become a
one-way street leading down from the school to the base
of the hill, where it will revert to a two-way street near
Christian Life Center.
This change in traffic How is designed to promote
safety and to allow a smoother flow of traffic for everyone
involved.
