Deadline: Monday at 5 p.m. bazaar, but he always turns us down. Therefore, we decided that we would publicly thank him through the newspaper so that others would know how generous he has been even though he is not a member of the Methodist Church. Randall, we truly appreciate your kindness and giving spirit. Thank you! It is what makes Heppner a nice place to call home. 7-12-lc CARD OF THANKS We would like to thank all of our dear family and friends for all of the gifts of love, sup port, flowers, cards and visits to Albert while he was in the hospital the past V /2 weeks. And to our daughter and son- in-law (Dianna and Gerald) for all of the help that they were to us: looking after the ranch and keeping it running smoothly and for running me back and forth to Pendleton to visit Albert. Also, a big thank you to Jean and Leon Ball, and Marlene Peterson for helping with chores at our home. We also want to thank all of you who said prayers for Albert while he was so sick. They helped a lot. Also for all of your calls. We deeply appreciate all of our dear friends for their con cern and kindness. With our love, Albert and Bev Wright 7-12-lp We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to all of our friends and family for their kindness and support at the time of our recent loss. The many cards, flowers, calls and dona tions in memory of Dick were greatly appreciated. Special thanks to all the community for the donations of food and help during the din ner held after his service. We were blessed to have him. We appreciate your gen erous outpouring of thoughts and prayers as we gathered to gether to be as one again dur ing his final days. Sincerely, Loa McElligott and Family 7-12-lp The Heppner United Meth odist Women (UMW) would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Randall Peterson for his con tinuing generosity. The UMW has two money making events a year - the Holi day Bazaar in November, and the Indoor Yard Sale in June. Every year, we have asked Randall to loan us his sandwich boards so that we may adver tise our activities around town, and he has cheerfully loaned them to us. We have offered to pay rent for them or give him and his wife a free meal at the Accounting Services “Friends, family and Cham ber members were there for me when they were supposed to be somewhere else or wanted to be somewhere else!” Now I know what a roast and toast is! If not for this fantastic, caring, giving com munity of unselfish people. I could not have stayed 20 years! Blame them! Obviously, hours were spent secretly borrow ing things from the "office, putting together the photo CD, contacting'people for letters, putting together the memory book, taking reserva tions, hosting the open house, filling one last bag for "this bag lady", planning the dinner, and putting together a survival bag for Merlin. Not to mention or ganizing the program, table decorations, the Irish singers, a plaque presentation, the din ner, speakers sharing stories and the Heppner song. You are all so amazing and wonderful! You had to stop me in my tracks a few times when 1 couldn't quite get the concept that I was there, not to organize, but rath er to enjoy, and that 1 did! It was appropriate that the first 1986 Chamber meetings were held at the Elks and years of Town and Country have fol lowed. In 2006, a gift to sit back and enjoy! What a complete surprise to have Gary Marks, past Cham ber President and City Manag er, drive in from Whitefish, Montana to MC! He comment ed that it was great to see Hep pner in such good hands and looking good. The audience was entertained by stories of Chamber shenanigans during his tenure. The Chamber is very fortunate to continue to have an excellent working relationship with the City and to share a great office. It’s thanks to my car, the Extension Service.
