    Health District adopts $5.9 million budget

H ealth D istrict, at th eir
regular meeting in Irrigon
M onday night, adopted a
$5,916,680 budget for the
2006-07 fiscal y ear and
imposed taxes at the rate of
$.6050 per $1,(XX) assessed
value for o p eratio n s and
$.39 per $1,000 for local
option tax for operations.

Mahoney reported that the
month of May ended with
another profit. The district
showed a $67,298 gain for
the month and a $449,793
gain fo r the year. The
av erag e
y e a r-to -d a te
monthly gain was $40,890.
“All in all, we’ve had a pretty
good year," said board Chair
Larry Mills.

nurses, effective July 1. Their
agreement with the RNs also

per the previous agreement.

contacted pay overtime after
12-1/2 hours per day.

Fire burned around 100 acres of stubble at the Charles and Marcia Anderson place near Ruggs
on Sunday, June 25, according to Heppner Fire Chief Rusty Estes. Estes said the Heppner
Department called the lone Fire Department for mutual aid. hut the fire still took around two
hours to put out.
MCGG Green Feed to hold
Grand Opening this Saturday
The Morrow County Grain Growers Green Feed Store in
Heppner will hold its grand opening this Saturday, July I
from 8a.m. to 4p.m.
MCGG had previously purchased the feed store and
has made extensive remodeling and increased inventory
changes.
For those who come to the grand opening there will be
free hot dogs and hamburgers from 10a.m to 2p.m. There
will also be 30 percent off all nursery stock, 20 percent off
Montana Silver and clothing and other items on sale. Door
prizes will also be given away, says Jamie Helfrecht, store
manager.
