Classroom staff say

literacy based activities,

community members were
invited to participate. On
November 10, fifth and sixth
g rad ers from H ep p n er
E lem entary read to the
children. On November 23,
Heppner City M ayor Tim
VanCleave volunteered his
time and read two books to
the Head Start class.
In conjunction with
these activities, the children
were given the opportunity
to choose a book to have for
their own and to take home
with them.
