Mustangs beat Tigerscots

had to be delayed due to a
rain and hail storm shortly
before game time that made
the field unplayable
The Mustangs, 1-0
in the CBC and 7-2 overall,
will be at Stanfield for a
crucial doubleheader on
Friday, April 22 and at home
for another important CBC
game against Pilot Rock on
Tuesday, April 26 at 4:30

The M ustangs got
on the board in the second
inning when Nick Christman
and Quinn Peck reached on
errors, Dan Basile scored
them with a double, then
Kyle Carlson and Jode Coil
each had tw o -o u t RBI
singles to make it 4-0.
They added another
run in the third when
Christman again reached on
an error, went to second on
a Basile single and scored on
a Nacho Elguezabal single
but the Tigerscots came back
with five runs in the bottom
half to tie it at 5-5.
The Mustangs took
the lead for good in the
fourth when Coil singled,
stole second and scored as
Kory Paullus reached on an
error Christman and Peck
walked, Paullus scored on a
wild pitch and Basile had an
RBI single
They made it 10-5 in
the fifth when Matt McCabe
reached on an error, stole
second and scored on two
more throwing errors. Coil
hit a blo o p double and
scored as Josh G utierrez
reached on an error
The
T ig ersco ts
added a run in the seventh,
but the lead w as never
threatened
Gutierrez came on in
relief in the fourth pitching
two scoreless innings to pick
up the win, with Coil coming
in for the sixth and seventh
to pick-up the save
Basile was three for
four with three RBI. Coil
was three for five, scoring
twice and Christman scored
three runs
