issued a new solid waste
permit, effective March 1,
2005, to Morrow County
The permit is for a transfer
station that will be located
near the intersection o f Hwy
730 and Interstate 84 on Port
o f M orrow and State o f
Oregon property currently
being used as a gravel
storage area The transfer
station will serv e residents of
the City o f Boardman, City
o f Irrigon and other rural
areas o f N orth M orrow
County
Morrow County will
now be able to provide a
nearby solid waste disposal
serv ice for resid en tial
customers and commercial
businesses in the Boardman
and Irrigon areas. Curbside
solid waste collection and
recycling drop-off depots are
currently provided in the
area by Sanitary Disposal o f
Hermiston The nearest solid
waste disposal service for
self-haulers, how ever, is
located 15 miles south o f the
new transfer station at the
Finley Buttes Landfill or 20
miles east o f the new transfer
statio n at the Sanitary
Disposal transfer station in
Hermiston.
