The
M ustangs
stopped the Tigerscots on
their first drive taking over
at their own 17-yard line
after forcing a punt. Tyler
Boyer ran for 16 yards on
first down, Matt Kenny ran
twice for 12 yards, Boyer
tw ice more for nine and
Matthew VanCleave for one
and a first dow n B oyer
broke free for 20 yards, but
a holding penalty brought the
ball back to the 43-yard line.
Boyer then broke a tackle,
bounced outside and took
off down the sideline for a
touchdown The two-point
conversion failed, but the
M ustangs held a 6-0 lead
midway through the first
quarter
The defense again
stopped the Tigerscots with
the Mustangs taking over on
downs at their own 36-yard
line and went back to work
Boyer ran four times for 14
yards and taking a screen

caught a pass from
VanCleave for a four-yard

drive and the Tigerscots took
over at their own 26-yard
line early in the second
quarter
Coil then picked off
a long pass and brought it
back 25 yards to the
Heppner 45-yard line. The
M ustangs were unable to
move the ball and had to
punt, but held the Tigerscots,
taking over at the Weston-
McEwen 48-yard line. Boyer
ran for seven, Kenny for two
and VanCleave for four yards
and a first down at the 35-
yard
line

0 lead at the half, despite
having eight penalties for 72

The Mustangs took
the second half kick off back
to the 21 -yard line and went
to work with Kenny running
twice for 24 yards. Boyer ran
for three, a holding penalty
on the Tigerscots took the
ball to the Weston-McEwen
4 1 -yard line, Kenny ran
twice for nine yards and a
face mask penalty took it to
thetwenty-seve'n. Kenny ran
four times for 12 yards to set
up a 15-yard touchdow n
pass from VanCleave to
Seitz to give the Mustangs
an 18-0 lead with 7:56 left
in the third quarter
The Tigerscots took
over at their own twenty-one
after the kick off, but Coil
picked off his third pass at
the 37-yard line and a
personal foul penalty took it
