m ake it 28-22, then Britt hit a

35-26. The Panthers wouldn’t
go aw ay though scoring six
straight before Wilson scored
o ff a pass from Rietmann and

M ustangs lead was cut to 37-
34 after three.

The Mustangs jumped
out to a 17-7 lead after one,

They increased their lead to 20
points at the half, getting nine
points from Kory Paullus, four
from Kilkenny and three from
Britt in the second quarter. Britt
had seven points in the third,

Local hoop shoot competition scheduled
The H eppner Elks L odge has scheduled this y e a r’s
local H oop Shoot com petition for Sunday, Jan. 4 at
the lone School gym nasium s. All area youth w ho are
at least eight years o f age, but not m ore than 13 years
o f age, as o f April 1, 2004, are encouraged to attend
and com pete. Sign-up for both girls and boys will be
at 1:30 p.m. Boys com petition will be held in one gym ,
girls in the other.
Local co-chairs o f the event are M arc O rem and
Dean Robinson. The Elks have sponsored the annual
H oop Shoot affair for m any years. All participants will
receive a certificate o f accom plishm ent. Local winners
in each age group w ill go on to com pete in the D istrict
com petition in H erm iston later in January. There are
no fees to participate.
