It was estimated that about $23,000 was raised from the dinner and auction and the sale of personalized bricks for the new plaza at the lone school. H eppner celebrates H om ecom ing VOL. 122 NO. 40 10 Pages Wednesday, October 1,2003 Morrow County, Heppner, Oregon Health district plans discussion on possible tax levy The M orrow County Health District Board, at their regular meeting in Boardman M o n d a y n ig h t, d isc u s s e d issues concerning a proposed tax levy w hich, i f passed, w ould enable the district to continue operation w ithout significant cuts in programs. T he board plans to discuss the particulars o f the proposed levy with Mike Bell, CPA, at their meeting planned for Oct. 20. The board has yet to decide the cost o f the levy, which services it will continue to offer if the levy passes and what services will be cut if the levy fails. The district operates ’Pioneer M em orial H ospital a n d N u r s in g H o m e a n d Pioneer M em orial C linic in Heppner, the Irrigon C linic, ambulance services throughout the county and also subsidizes a private m edical clinic in Boardman. In other business, the board: -received the profit/ loss sta te m e n t for A u g u st which showed a $36,181 loss for the m onth and a $62,048 loss For the year. The charge for flu shots is $ 12, which can be billed to M edicare and all health insurances.
