Chronicles Committee looking for flood information

The Chronicles Committee o f Morrow County Historical Society is looking for incidents, stories
or pictures o f the Heppner Flood o f 1903. If anyone has information o f this kind that they would like to

Cardinal Booster Club discusses renovations & events

Booster Club m et Feb. 3, at the
high school, w ith 19 m em bers
present.
Del LaRue had several
bids from Harold Rietm ann for
. the new trophy case. The bids
will have to be re-w orked due
to the added size o f the case. The
* bid for the eight-foot case was
$910, with extra expense for the
shelves. Dean Robinson reported
the bid for relocating the drinking
fountain, including fittings and
la b o r, w a s $ 6 8 7 .9 3 . He
suggested the m iddle school
student body might help pay the
expenses. The work will be done
over spring break.
Rietmann also suggested
putting an Oregonian Gold Cup
sign on the edge o f town with the
state championship signs. He will
submit a sketch o f that plan.
The club is still waiting to
hear from the IRS regarding our
non-profit confirmation.

the yearbook $532.38 to help
pay their first deposit.

will be available to help the club
apply for grants in the fiiture. She

Committee that will be filling out
grant applications. She will also
take further classes this spring.

no longer be involved in the

Tournament. lone will continue to
sponsor that tournament under a
new name. “Cardinal Invitational'’
was suggested.
The club is sponsoring a
Wildhorse Casino trip this spring.
A bus will be provided by the
c a s in o fo r 2 0 p e o p le , an d
travelers w ill receive a lunch
voucher. C ost o f the trip is $ 15
each. A date for the trip will be
discussed at the March meeting.

reco g n ized . E lem en tary and
middle school parents provided
concessions at the middle school
basketball gam e and held a cake
raffle at the high school game. The
preschool is sponsoring a raffle
at each game, with items donated
by local businesses. Janet Stefani
has been aw arding prizes to the
best dressed boy and girl at all
basketball games.
The club hopes to get the

again. Virgil M organ will ask

interested.
