“C” team boys got their running
gam e going in the third quarter
to pull aw ay from the visiting
Stanfield Tigers winning 50-32 on
M onday, Dec. 16 to im prove
their record to 3-1 on the year.
T he M u sta n g s are o f f until
Tuesday, Jan. 6 w hen they play
at Stanfield at 5:30 p.m.
M ikel Britt scored four
o f the Mustangs six points in the
first quarter as the M ustangs led
6-4 after one and they extended
their lead to 20-13 at halftim e
g e ttin g fo u r se co n d q u a rte r
points from Matthew VanCleave
and three from Rory Kilkenny.
Josh Lankford scored
five points, including a 3-pointer.
V anCleave scored four points
and Roy Proctor three, in the
third as the M ustangs increased
their lead to 38-24 after three and
g o t fo u r p o in ts e a c h from
K ilkenny and VanCleave in the
fourth as they coasted to the win.
VanCleave had 12 points
w ith Kilkenny finishing with nine
and Lankford with six.

M ustang “C ” team breezes by
Rockets

The H eppner M ustang
“ C ” team ran out to a 25-8
halftime lead and breezed by the
visiting Pilot Rock Rockets 64-
38 on T hursday, D ec. 19 to
im prove their record to 4-1 on
the year.
The M ustangs got three
points from Dan Basile in the first
taking a 10-1 lead after one and
five points from Mikel Britt and
four from Matthew VanCleave in
taking the 25-8 halftime lead.
R oy P ro c to r hit a 3-
pointer and scored five points and
VanCleave four as the Mustangs
extended their lead to 43-18 after
three. K yle Carlson scored six
points. Matt Kenny and Proctor
four, as the M ustangs coasted
through the fourth finally winning
64-38.
Carlson and Proctor led
the M ustangs balanced scoring
effort w ith nine points each with
Kenny, VanCleave and Britt each

H uddleston and Kory Paullus
each scored six points.
The M ustangs helped
them selves by hitting 15 o f 22
free throws.
