M ustangs will host the Huskies
on Friday, O ct. 25 w ith the
winner taking over first place in
the CBC. It w ill also be the last
regular season home game for the
seniors.
The M ustangs took the
opening kick-off and caught the
Bulldogs offguard by throwing

for 35 yards inside the five-yard

one yard out and Lovgren’s kick

kick gave the Bulldogs good field

Brad Adams ran for eight
yards then five and Britt hit Coil
for 25 yards to the nine-yard line.

Mustang JVs fall short at Weston-McEwen

A fourth quarter rally fell
short for the H eppner M ustang
JV football team at W eston-
M cEw en as they lost 22-14 to
end the year w ith a 3-3 record.
A fter a scoreless first
quarter, Cody Walton broke free
on the first play o f the second
quarter for a 79-yard touchdown
run. Matt Kenny ran in the two-
point conversion to give the
M ustangs an 8-0 lead.

Weston-McEwen
scored tw o touchdow ns in the
third quarter to take a 19-8 lead.
H ow ever, the M ustangs scored
on the first play o f the fourth
quarter on a 70-yard pass and
run from Matthew VanCleave to
Aaron Griffith. The conversion
pass failed and the M ustangs
trailed 19-14.
A 30-yard field goal by
the Tigerscots extended their lead
to 22-14 m idw ay through the
fourth quarter but the M ustangs
put together a driv e getting a 25-
yard pass from V anCleave to
Aaron Delveaux, Brandon Seitz
m ade a diving catch o f a pass
from Griffith for a 35-yard gain
and a 15-yard run by W alton to
get inside the five-yard line. After

Mustangs defense held on downs
at the five-yard line. Britt broke
free for a 57-yard gain to end the
game.
The defense played well
all day holding the Bulldogs to
113 yards rushing and 49 yards
passing with Kilkenny leading the
way with 25 defensive points and
