Another successful baseball
season is in the books. The Hep
pner High baseball team would
like to thank all of the parents and
community members for their
support during the season. We
appreciate our crowd support,
both at home and on the road.
Thank you to the following
individuals and businesses who
helped with field improvements:
Dick Sargent, for your dedica
tion to our field. We appreciate
the many hours you worked on
the water system, the concession
stand and equipment shed, in ad
dition to mowing and weeding
the field. Sam Bellamy, Lexing
ton Pump, for electrical work and
supplies. Bill Green, C-4 Con
struction, grading the road to the
ball field. Morrow County Grain
Growers for the use of the lawn
thatcher. Heppner Elementary
School for the donation of cabi
nets, heaters and counters in
stalled in the snack shack. Jay
Coil Fabricating for materials and
labor to make racks in the equip
ment shed. Finley Butte Landfill
for the matting on the backstop.
Devin Oil for the trash barrels.
Steve Wagenblast for donating
fill dirt, and Miller Ranches for
hauling the dirt to the field.
Thanks to John McCabe for
organizing the concession stand.
Thanks also to all the parents who
volunteered to work in the con
cession stand throughout the sea
son.
A special thank you to the
Heppner High Booster club for
purchasing our new uniforms.
Thank you Jason Hanna and
John McCabe for the many hours
you volunteered to help coach.
The Heppner Babe Ruth teams
would like to give thanks to these
organizations for their continued
financial support this season:
Morrow County Grain Growers,
I.O.O.F., Columbia Basin Co-op,
B.P.O.E. Lodge #358. We field
ed two teams again this season.
Without the support from these
organizations, this would not
have been possible.
Thank you to Bobbette
Lovgren and Debbie Peck for
being the concession stand orga
nizers for each team. Thanks to
all of the parents who volunteered
their time in the concession stand.
Thank you to Tim Dickenson,
Lonnie Rill, and parents who
umpired our games. It is usually
a thankless job, but we appreci
ate your efforts.
Thanks to assistant coaches
Kim Gutierrez and Carl Christ
man. We would also like to thank
Jack Yocom, Dave Allstott, Phil
Carlson, Dennis Peck and Jay
Coil for your assistance through
out the season.
The Heppner Baseball golf
tournament was a huge success
again this year. We would like to
thank all of you who helped with
and participated in the tourna
ment. A special thank you goes
to Bert and Kim Houweling of
Red Apple Central Market for
your generous donations and or
ganization of the lunch.
Support from all of these peo
ple is what keeps our baseball
program going strong. Thanks
again!

We wish to express our deep
est heartfelt Thanks to all who
helped us during and after my
heart attack.
Thanks for the many cards,
phone calls, gifts, hugs, flowers
and prayers. I thank God to be
back safe and sound. I wish to
thank the doctors and nurses,
flight crew and ambulance crews
for their deep concern through it
all.
I first want you to know that
each and every expression of lov
ing care was very deeply appre
ciated. What a neat place to live
all your life!
Thanks and God Bless!

I would like to thank every
one who made Celebrate Hepp-
ner’s History 2002 such a re
sounding success. From the feed
back I received, I believe that
most everyone had a good time.
Thanks to all who worked to
make the arrangements for it all
to come together. Thanks to all
who donated their beautiful quilts
for display. Thanks to the mer
chants who participated in the
event by conducting sales and
sidewalk displays. Thank you to
the young people who entered
and marched in the parade.
Thanks to the Rodeo Court for
observing and conducting the
drawing for the gift certificates.
Thanks to Cliff Green and Hepp
ner Hardware for the free hot
dogs. Thanks to the Heppner
Cheerleaders for running the
dunk tank and for all the good
sport dunkees. Thank you to all
the pie bakers for the wonderful
pies to be judged and auctioned
off. Thanks to Darrell Raver and
Brenda Sherrell for organizing
the pie contest and auction.
Thank you Sherrell Insurance for
donating $150 in gift certificates
for the pie contest. Thanks to
Darrell Raver and the Bank of
Eastern Oregon for the free com
munity barbecue. Thank you to
all the people I have not men
tioned who worked to make the
event happen. Without your sup
port, Celebrate Heppner would
not have been as successful as it
was.
The real point however, is
that the community had a great
time and we had a wonderful turn
out. A special thanks to all of you
who came to the event and par
ticipated by visiting your local
merchants, talking to friends and
neighbors, and just being part of
this extraordinary community.
Well done one and all!
