Sept 12: MCSO deputy assisted Boardman Police Dept, in arresting one subject for a local warrant, and another for DUII and a warrant out o f Hermiston. Leonardo Rogel Mendez, 37, was arrested on a Hermiston warrant for Failure to Appear/Disorderly Conduct and local charges o f DUII, No Operator's License, No Insurance and Forgery I. He was lodged at the Um atilla County Jail. Cam Arroyo Lopez, 35, was arrested on an Imgon Justice Court warrant for Failure to Appear/ Driving while License Suspended, Driving Uninsured. Both subjects were arrested for harassm ent. -Boardman Police Dept, received a report of a noisy vehicle at a trailer park in Boardman. -MCSO, Heppner Police Dept, received a report from a caller in Heppner that her son was just shot in the chest with a pellet gun. -MCSO, Heppner Police Dept., Heppner am bulance received a request for an am bulance for a juvenile who was hit in the head. No transport was made. -Im g o n Fire Dept, received a report from a caller in Im gon o f an illegal bum emitting a "toxic" smoke. The Irrigon Assistant Fire C hief advised that the situation was handled. Sept 13: MCSO received a report o f gunshots heard in Im gon from an unknown direction. -MCSO, FFA received a report from Boardman o f a small airplane flying when the no-flight rule was in effect. -M CSO received a report from the Morrow County Road Dept, that all the windows and lights were broken out o f a front-end loader and all the windows in a CAT were also broken out. The equipment was at the Hardm an Ridge rock pit. Hotel Condon readies for grand opening Business has been brisk at the newly renov ated Hotel Condon since opening in late Septem ber, and a grand opening and "Harvest Gala" is planned for Saturday, Nov. 3. Everyone is invited to participate in the festivities and enjoy food, drinks and live music with "The Kung Pau Chickens", from 7 p.m. to midnight, at 202 South Mam in Condon. Chef Monty C olby. who has "won the appreciation o f all who have dined at the hotel." according to a news release, will be serving hors d'oeuvres for the grand opening. The menu will include canapés of smoked salmon with lemon dill aioli, tiger shnmp with wild mushroom, Stilton cheese and lemon zest; entrees of roasted venison loin with sweet/hot mustard, among other delicacies. In addition, desserts will include chocolate mousse bruchee's and bread pudding with bourbon sauce. C hef Colby is president o f High- Desert Foods. In addition, the hotel includes a restaurant, featuring high-desert cuisine, and a full-serv ice cocktail lounge on the first floor The Hotel Condon has transformed from a 42-room hotel with shared bathrooms to 18 rooms w ith private baths. In addition, four o f the sleeping rixims are suites with doubled space and view s of C ondon and the surrounding countryside. Guests w ill find an elevator for their convenience and an intimate guest lounge on the second floor featuring natural light from sk_v lights, and chairs and couches to relax and read or conv erse. Much care has gone into maintaining the histone infrastructure o f the hotel. The exterior features brick masonry with freshly painted trim, while the intenor follows the ongmal scheme vv ith improvements made to "ensure the comfort o f the guests".
