Heppner Gazette-Times, Sheriff's Report The Morrow County S heriff s Office (MCSO) reports handling the following business: -MCSO received a report that a MCGG fertilizer truck located at the fertilizer plant in lone had its lights on. ITte manager at MCGG was contacted and took care o f it -MCSO received a report from the Hermiston Police Dept, that Trav is Calhoun, 20, was arrested on a Heppner Justice Court warrant for failure to Pay Fine/Waste of Game Animal and on two local charges. He was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail. -MCSO, Boardman Police Dept, received a report from Boardman that there were about 10 juveniles involved in a fight. -MCSO received a report that Efrain Vela-Placencia, 32, was arrested on a Morrow County Circuit Court warrant for Assault IV and Harassment and on a local charge for Failure to Present and Carry License and on a separate Marion County w arrant. He was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail. -MCSO received a report of a 51 -year-old woman in lone who was having back pain and was faint. An ambulance was not requested at that time. -MCSO, Oregon State Police received a report of a Volkswagon towing a trailer with two motorcycles that was speeding excessively on 1-84 eastbound. June 4: MCSO, Boardman Police Dept, received a report of a DUII. Oregon State Police was contacted after an officer was unable to locate the vehicle. -MCSO deputies detained three subjects on Potlatch property. They cited Guadalupe Futy-Zavala, 20. Samuel Martinez Esquivel, 33, and Fernando Caldera Flores, 25, for Criminal Trespass II. -MCSO, Boardman Police Dept, received a report o f an alarm activation at the Sam Boardman Elementary School in Boardman. The alarm had been accidently set off by the janitor. -MCSO received a report of a large, vicious dog acting very protectiv e at the gazebo off Patterson Ferry Road on the Umatilla Wildlife Refuge. -Boardman Police Dept, officer reported heading to the Chevron Station in Boardman to talk to an irate customer who was refusing to leave. The customer left. -MCSO received a report from the Umatilla Chemical Depot advising of a status update on a ton container. The plug was tightened and filtering and monitoring of igloo was continued with no release o f air. -MCSO, Oregon State Police received another request for assistance regarding possible live ammunition found earlier. -MCSO, Boardman Police Dept, received a report o f a vehicle traveling extremely slowly and swerving on 1-84 eastbound. The driver took an exit to Boardman. The elderly male driver was contacted; he was tired and was going to rest at the 76 Station. -MCSO, Boardman Police Dept, received a report from a woman that children were taking toys from her yard in Boardman. -MCSO received a report from a caller in Boardman that a stray dog that was possibly ill or abandoned keeps eating her dog's food. -MCSO, Boardman city crew received a report that someone spilled a slick substance on the road at the junction of Main and Wilson and it was requested the city crew sand the area. -MCSO received several reports from the Chevron and 76 stations regarding a possible mentally ill person in the area. -MCSO received a report of a domestic situation in progress in Boardman. The caller's uncle was hitting her aunt. While on the line, the aunt advised all was okay; it was a verbal disagreement. An official responded to check. -MCSO, Heppner Police Dept received a report of a E ground level motion detector alarm at the Heppner Elementary School. -MCSO received a request for assistance in Imgon regarding a road the caller has on his property that the neighbors have an easement for and there was farm equipment from the neighbor traveling on it. The caller wanted to know what he could do about it. -MCSO received a report of a juvenile problem in Imgon. The neighbor kids keep getting into the caller's dog kennel where she had new puppies. June 5: MCSO received a report from the Albany Police Dept, that Robert Mark Hamman was in custody on a Heppner Justice Court warrant for Failure to Pay Fine/Driving while License Suspended. He was lodged at the Linn County Jail. -MCSO received a report o f a prowler in Imgon. The caller said she could hear someone throwing what sounded like wood around outside her residence to the west. The call was unfounded. -MCSO, lone Fire Dept, received a report from a caller who had driven through a large amount of thick gas/smoke on Highway 74 by the Jordan Elevators and almost passed out from the smoke. The lone Fire Dept, responded and determined it was anhydrous ammonia. A deputy determined unknown subject! s) was attempting to steal the ammonia. Good Shepherd Medical Center was contacted in case someone came in with bums on their hands or arms. -MCSO, Boardman Police Dept, received a report from Boardman that a theft just occured. A subject was cited for Theft III -MCSO received a report of a hang-up 911 call. Everything was okay. A child had been playing on the phone. -MCSO received a report from a caller in Union County that his soon-to-be ex-wife took their kids out of school in Imgon and took off with them -MCSO received a report from a caller in Heppner who found multiple firearms in his storage shed that were hidden. -MCSO received a request for a deputy contact regarding a call the previous day about neighbor's children and the caller's puppies. The caller advised one of the puppies died. -MCSO received a report from the Oregon State Police in Salem that Robert Joe Palmer, 53, was arrested on a Morrow County warrant. He was lqdged in the Marion County Jail on that and local charges. -MCSO, Boardman Police and Fire depts. received a report of a grass fire just east of Sailboard Beach off the marina. It was a controlled bum. -MCSO, Imgon ambulance received a request for an ambulance for a 84-year-old male who was having trouble breathing and other unknown medical problems. The patient w as transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston. -MCSO received a report of a deer hit and injured in the road at Patterson Ferry. An officer was unable to find the deer to put it down. -MCSO received a report from Boardman that a bobcat just ran off with one of the caller's chickens. -MCSO received a report from a caller in Boardman that her neighbor threatened her. -MCSO received a report from a caller in Lexington that a 12- passenger transport bas had not been seen since last Friday and was taken from the bus shed in Heppner. The bus was located. -MCSO. Heppner Police Dept.. Heppner ambulance received a request for an ambulance for a 69- year-old male who possibly had loud She wanted a deputy contact to issue a citation -MCSO received a report from the sheriffs office in Butte, Montana, that Randolph M oms Scott, 42. was arrested on a circuit court warrant for Parole Violation/Cnminal Non-Support. He was lodged at the Butte Jail on that and on local charges. -MCSO received a report from the Hermiston Police Dept, that Travis Jacob Calhoun, 20, was arrested on a justice court warrant for Failure to Pay Fine/Waste of Game Animal. He was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail on that and on local charges. -MCSO received a request for deputy contact regarding the caller's daughters. -MCSO received another report from Imgon of neighbor kids harassing the caller's puppies. -MCSO. Boardman Police Dept received a report from Boardman of a woman who was locked out of her car with a 2 '/ 2 -year-old child inside. -MCSO received a report from the Oregon State Police at Hermiston that Dean Curtis Polston, 31. of Hermiston was arrested on Heppner Justice Court warrant for Failure to Pay Fine/Giving False Information to a Police Officer. He was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail on Morrow and Umatilla County holds. -MCSO, Boardman Police Dept, received a request for deputy assistance regarding an unwanted, intoxicated subject at a residence in Boardman who was threatening family members. The subject left. Larry R. Dodson, 51, was arrested for DUII. The BAC reading was .18. -MCSO, Boardman Police Dept, received a report of a neighbor's dog chasing the caller's cat in her yard in Boardman. -Boardman Police Dept, officer advised he received a report of a stolen bicycle. A citation was issued to a juvenile. -MCSO, Heppner Police Dept, received a report of two subjects behind the caller's residence. One may have had a pistol. They were swearing and telling him to come out. The subjects then headed to the bowling alley. -MCSO, Heppner Police Dept, received a report <>f noises heard towards the back of the caller's house. She thought she knew who it was. June 7: MCSO received a report of juveniles parked in a bad spot just off the freeway on Tower Road. -MCSO received a report of a bike taken from A.C. Houghton Elementary School in Imgon the previous day. -MCSO, Imgon ambulance received a request for an ambulance for a diabetic woman with high blood sugar, who was vomiting and couldn't walk. She had been released from the hospital the previous day. The patient was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston. -MCSO, Boardman Fire Dept, received a report of a grass fire that just started on the Bombing Range. -MCSO received a report that the caller's son had gone to Penland Lake for the night but had not yet returned. The son was contacted and all was okay. -MCSO received a report of a suspicious vehicle sitting in front of the caller's neighbor's residence in Imgon. -MCSO, Oregon State Police received a report of a blond female on 1-84 westbound at the milepost 159 exit who was flashing truckers and making obscene gestures. -MCSO, Oregon State Police pneumonia. The patient was transported to Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner. June 6: MCSO deputy arrested Patrick David Choin, 23, of Hermiston for warrants on Failure to Appear/ Assault IV. Harassment, Criminal Trespass and Theft II. He was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail. -MCSO received a report from Hillsboro Police Dept, that Mason James Carlson, 27. was arrested on an Imgon Justice Court warrant for Failure to Pay Fine/Open Container He was lodged at the Washington County Jail. -MCSO received a report from a caller in Imgon that her neighbor’s kids were playing their music too received a report of a vehicle that passed the caller's vehicle on the right while they were stopped for kids crossing the crosswalk and almost hit the kids The vehicle wu> traveling towards Umatilla -MCSO received a report o f a panic alarm at a residence in lone It was an accidental motivation. -MCSO deputy advised he had been flagged down by the 76 Station and would be out w ith a suspicious subject. -MCSO received a report from Oregon State Police that Christy Lynn Whalen. 37, was arrested on a Morrow County Circuit Court warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance C Felony and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. She was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail with $20,000 bail. -MCSO received a report of an audible alarm at a residence in Boardman. There was an unknown female at the residence. It was the resident's granddaughter checking on him and the alarm should have been reset. -MCSO. Boardman Police Dept, received a report of a gang fight that just occured in Boardman ITie suspects left on foot. Four or five persons were involved -MCSO received a report of a sports car speeding at "extreme speeds" on 1-84. June 8: MCSO deputies arrested Robert Clyde Robertson. Jr.. 33. on a Umatilla County warrant for Parole Violation/Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail. -MCSO. Heppner city crew received a rejxirt of a leaking water pipe in the cemetery that was causing the caller's back yard to flood. -MCSO received a report that a pickup almost ran the caller off the road on the Western Route and now she had chips in her w indshield. -MCSO received two hang-up 911 calls from a residence in lone It was a child playing on the phone. -MCSO, Boardman Police Dept, received a report from Boardman of a theft that occured the previous day or night. -MCSO received a request for a deputy contact regarding the caller's daughter doing drugs. The caller was concerned for the grandchildren's welfare. -MCSO received a report o f a vehicle speeding around in the Imgon Mobile Court that almost hit the caller's daughter. -MCSO. Oregon State Police received a report of a Ford Taurus traveling at a high rate of speed on 1-84 westbound. -MCSO received a request for information regarding a warrant on a subject. MCSO had a warrant for a different subject with a similar name. -MCSO deputy advised he was flagged down on Highway 730 and told about a subject who failed to obey a traffic device. The deputy was unable to locate the subject. -MCSO received a report from a woman in Imgon who had fallen down and possibly broken her wnst. No transport was made. -MCSO. Boardman Police Dept, received a report of an intoxicated person at the Boardman Texaco station trying to buy alcohol. June 9: MCSO. Imgon Fire Dept received a report of a fire near the railroad tracks. -MCSO. Boardman Police Dept received a report that someone put a hole into the caller's screen door in Boardman and took a wallet and bag. -MCSO received a report from the Hermiston Police Dept that Chen Sink, 29, was arrested on a Morrow County w arrant and lodged at the Hermiston Police Dept Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, August 1, 2001 - FIVE -MCSO received a report that Eddie Joe Rios, 38, was in custody on Umatilla County Sheriffs Office charges and on various Morrow County warrants for Parole Violation/Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Driving while License Suspended. Driving Uninsured. Violation of the Basic Rule He was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail with a hold for Morrow County. -MCSO received a report of a Chrysler vehicle heading to 1 exington that was all over the road. The vehicle was located and a citation issued. -MCSO. Boardman Police Dept., Boardman ambulance received a request for an ambulance for a male diabetic with low blood sugar in Boardman. The man refused transport. -MCSO, Umatilla County Sheriffs Office received a report from a woman in Imgon that money was taken from her residence in McNary. -MCSO, Oregon State Police receiv ed an abandoned 911 call from Imgon. The line was busy on call back. A second 911 call was received from Bake's parking lot. A woman reported she was fighting with her boyfriend at the apartment where the first call was received. There was one child at the apartment; the child was safe. No weapons, drugs or alcohol were involved. James Joseph Basaldua. 19, was arrested for Assault IV Domestic Felony and Interfering with Making a Police Report. He was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail with $6,000 bail. -MCSO, Boardman ambulance received a request for an ambulance for a 67-year-old diabetic female who was semi-conscious. The patient was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston. -MCSO received a report of very loud music coming from a neighbor's house in Boardman. -MCSO. Morrow County Road Dept, received a report of a deer carcass on the Bombing Range Road in the middle of the road. -MCSO. Oregon State Police received a report of a semi truck with a trailer that w as all over the road and crossing the centerline. -MCSO received an incomplete 911 call from Boardman. A deputy responded to check on the situation; all was okay........ -MCSO received a request for information from a woman in Idaho concerning her fiance; she wanted all the records MCSO has on him. She was unset with MCSO dispatch having to handle other tasks while talking to her. She was advised a release was needed from the subject and was also advised no information would be released without the sheriffs or undersheriffs authorization. The woman later called back and was told the same thing again. -MCSO, Boardman Police Dept, received a report from a man in Boardman that another man had beaten him up. -MCSO received a report from Potlatch Security that four subjects in a vehicle had been detained for trespassing. Shelly Kae Salisbury. 37. was cited for Criminal I respass June 10: MCSO. Boardman Police Dept received a report from Boardman that the caller’s daughter's vehicle windows were broken out while it was parked on Boardman Avenue in Boardman -MCSO received a report o f a vehicle parked in the Columbia Middle School parking lot m Imgon with all of its windows broken oui -MCSO. Boardman Police and Fire depts.. Boardman ambulance received a report of a garage on fire in Boardman and that a home w as threatened. Boardman Public Works Umatilla Electric and American Red Cross were also notified -MCSO deputy advised that there was a vehicle parked in a driveway in Imgon with its lights on and motor running. -MCSO. Heppner Fire Dept.. Heppner ambulance received a report of an overturned boat w ith people in the water at the Willow Creek Dam. The boat was towed and the people pulled out o f the water. -Heppner Police Dept, reported a open door at the Fleppner High School on the east side ITiere w as no sign of forced entry. Apparently this door was usually left open -MCSO receiv ed a report o f a calf out on Highway 74 and a bull in the caller's pasture. Another call was received about the calf out. ITie owner was contacted. -MCSO received a report from Irrigon of a neighbor’s dog going into the caller's yard and getting into the trash. -MCSO received a request for deputy contact regarding a repossession the caller wanted to do. -MCSO deputy cited Shayne Douglas Hoffman. 31. for Maintaining a Dog as a Public- Nuisance. -MCSO, Imgon ambulance received a request for an ambulance tor a 80-year-old woman in Imgon who was conscious and vomiting blood. -MCSO. Heppner city crew received a report of a broken water line by Fairview Way. The city would work to fix the problem. -MCSO, Heppner Police Dept, received an abandoned 911 call Everything was okay, it was a possible glitch in the system. -MCSO received a report that the caller's boat had been tampered with at the Imgon Marina Subject!s) possibly tned to hot-wire it. The caller wanted a deputy contact for insurance purposes. -MCSO received a repOTTof possible criminal mischief at the Columbia Middle School in Imgon rhere was broken glass around the school maintenance pickup, possibly from a broken window-. -MCSO, Oregon State Police received a report of a possible DUII on 1-84. -MCSO received a report from Boardman Police Dept, officer of a vehicle at a Boardman residence and the occupants refusing to leave the area -MCSO.
