At the November election, the

chamber voted for the following:

The board is made up of local
business representatives and
individuals who are members of
the Chamber of Commerce. The
positions are all volunteer.

Sixth Judicial to hold open house
Two local children win contest

winners a girl and a boy were
selected as state winners and will
receive a SI00 savings bond plus
a plane nde with one adult to the
next quarterly board meeting of
the foundation. The other eight
winners will receive a scenic
plane ride in their area.
During the past three years
the contest has been sponsored
by the 1600 membership of the
Oregon Pilots Association, over
500 Oregon school children have
learned
more
about
the
"excitement of general aviation."

Two local children were
selected winners in the Fall 2000
Oregon Pilots Association's
Aviation Safety and Edcuation
Foundation art poster contest.
Regional winners were Luke
Basile, Heppner, and Jessica
Mundy, Imgon.
The contest asked Oregon
school children ages eight
through 16 to submit their idea of
the theme "Flying My Plane to
Adventure."
Entries were received from
20 Oregon cities with five boys
and five girls selected as

Meghan McCabe followed with
six points and six rebounds. Tracy
Griffith and Jeanette Brantley also

score. Emily Key added three
points and was a nuisance to the
Tigers w hen she grabbed a total of
eight possessions. Eva Chitty
contributed two points in the first
quarter and did an outstanding job
Boardman will honor those
who made Boardman a better
place to live and work in 2000 at
the annual Community Awards
Banquet on Friday, Feb. 2.
The banquet, open to anyone
who purchases a ticket, will
again be held at the Riverfront
Center, Two Marine Drive in
Boardman. The event will
include musical entertainment
throughout the evening.
Boardman area businesses and
organizations will sponsor and
decorate tables to promote their
business
and
celebrate
Valentine's Day. A wide variety
of auction items will be available
to bid on during two auctions-a
silent auction and another
featuring Ray Fox, a local
auctioneer.
Social hour begins at 6 p.m.
which will provide a time to view
the table decorations and auction
items, or visit the no-host bar.
Dinner will be a choice of
chicken cordon bleu or baked
ham, served at 7:30 p.m. The
Outstanding Boardman Educator.
Business Person and Citizen of
2000 awards will be presented
following the dinner.

Attorney David C. Allen has
released the following report:
George Michael Coover
plead gulty to false application of
resident bear tag. He was
sentenced to 24 months' bench
probation and ordered to not hunt
or angle within the state of
Oregon for two years and pay
$364 in fines and assessments.
Charles Eugene VanGorder,
III, plead guilty to Assault IV. He
was sentenced to incarceration
with the local supervisory
authority for Morrow County for
90 days, suspended on the
condition that he complete 18
months’ probation, have no
offensive physical contact with
the victims, perform 80 hours
community service, complete
anger management and alcohol
packages and pay $684 in fines,
fees and assessments.
