and the Heppner community for
honoring me at the Town and
Country dinner. It was not ex
pected and I didn’t really have a
suitable response for the occasion.
Being selected as a Person of
the Year is certainly a signal event
in one’s life and believe me, this
honor takes on those proportions
for me. It is also a very humbling
event, given all the efforts by so
many folks to make the commu
nity what it is.
I really enjoy looking around the
community at projects completed.
The changes that have occurred
over the past 10 or 15 years are
truly remarkable. The best part of
these changes is how they were
accomplished with each reflect
ing the work o f many people
