Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Sheriff's Report The Morrow County Sheriffs Office (MCSO) reports handling the following business: July 2: MCSO received a re port of loud music in Imgon. MCSO deputy advised she was out in Irrigon with several juve niles. MCSO received a report of a van at the Imgon Mobile Court playing loud music. ACSO received a report of phone calls made against restrain ing order stipulations. Oregon State Police received a report of a small child moving about in a red Hyundai on 1-84. MCSO received a report of an ongoing loud music problem. Heppner Police Dept, received a report of a burglar alarm at Kla math First Federal. A keyholder was on the scene. MCSO deputy arrested Betty Ayres, 46, on an Heppner Justice Court warrant for Contempt of C ourt/H arassm ent. She was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail with no bail and an additional charge of Resisting Arrest. July 4: MCSO received report of a German Shepherd attacking caller's dogs and digging in the garbage. MCSO received report of children possibly sexually abused by their father. MCSO received report of a dog back. Dispatch attempted to notify Pet Rescue but was • unable to contact anyone. MCSO received report of cow out and then advised to disregard, cow was back in. MCSO received report of construction signs moved on Wilson Rd. MCSO arrested William Ellis Looney, 25, on Heppner Litter pickup scheduled The Heppner Chamber of Commerce reminds people about the Heppner Chamber's effort to remove litter and vegetation from the state highway rights-of-way through town. Volunteers are needed for the next litter pick up date on Wednesday, Aug. 9, from 5-6 p.m. For more informa.ion, contact John Edmundson, project coordinator, at 676-5177. Wyden plans town hall U.S. Senator Ron Wyden has scheduled a Morrow County town hall meeting on Saturday, August 19, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, at the Morrow County Courthouse, 100 Court St. in Heppner. The meeting is open to the public. Open house set for grade school An open house will be held at Heppner Elementary School on Tuesday, August 14, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to stop by to see the new office. Justice Court warrants tor Failure to Pay Fine/Fumishing Alcohol to a minor. Failure to Pay Fine/DUII and Failure to Pay Fine/Reckless Driving. He was lodged at Umatilla County Jail with $1,690 bail. MCSO received report of a German Shepherd found. Caller leashed dog up, but was advised MCSO was out of resources. Caller advised she would keep dog over night and contact Pet Rescue in the a.m. Boardman Fire Department (BFD), BPD, MCSO received report of fire behind Dodge City Inn with one structure threatened. BPD received report of a subject getting $12 of gas at Boardman Texaco and having only $4 to pay. Subject was to return by 7p.m. but didn't show up. OSP/Hermiston arrested John Earl Lagrow, 30, on an Irrigon Justice Court warrant for Failure to Pay Fine/Dnving While Suspended. Bail was $833. MCSO, BPD received report of a possible DUII with a grey vehicle all over the road headed toward Boardman. MCSO cited a juvenile for MIP tobacco. MCSO received report of a loud, possibly large fireworks near Boardman. Deputy was unable to locate anything. MCSO received report of a traffic hazard/a vehicle parked on the train tracks. The vehicle was moved. MCSO deputy cited an 18-year-old juvenile for MIP alcohol. MCSO, lone Fire Department received report of a large grass fire on Hwy 74. MCSO, BPD received report of a large fight in progress at Boardman Texaco. Caller believed subjects were hitting a victim with baseball bats. Victim and suspects left before officers arrived. OSP received report of a possible DUII with a pickup with camper swerving all over the road. July 5: BFD, MCSO received report of a brush fire by the railroad tracks across from Sail Board Beach. MCSO received report of loud music coming from the canal area. Irrigon FD, MCSO received report of a brush fire threatening a structure. Irrigon FD, MCSO received another report of a brush fire on Hwy 730. It was under control. MCSO received report of fireworks being set off at 12:25 a.m. in Irrigon. MCSO received report of 4-H News Pins and Pots and Patterns and Pans By Emily Bergstrom, reporter At the 4-H meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 2, members all worked on getting done with their 4-H sewing projects. The club's banner is also almost done. Members worked on their modeling. Some wrote down recipes for their recipe box. Members received their sheets to study for the clothing judging contest and the button sewing contest. HHS cheerleader tryouts slated Local girl Heppner High School students interested in trying out for the earns diploma 2000-2001 cheerleading squad should attend a work session on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 9 a.m. Tryouts will then be held at 1 p.m. that day in the gym at Heppner High School. Amy Mathews, the daughter of Mark and Geneva Schlichting and Dan Mathews, all of Heppner, graduated from the International Air Academy in Vancouver, WA, on August 2. MCSO received report of a semi truck hitting a fence at the Boardman BP. MCSO received request to deliver a message from a woman to her husband in Boardman residence. Message was delivered, phone was apparently off the hook. MCSO received report of a missing child in Boardman. MCSO received report of irrigation equipment vandalized in Irrigon. MCSO, HPD received report of a fire in an alley behind a house in Heppner. MCSO received report from a male subject that a female stole from him and when she brought it back, she threw it at him. He requested a deputy to patrol the area. MCSO received request, via Umatilla County Sheriffs Office, that a female wanted assistance with picking up her grandson. MCSO received report from an Irrigon woman that she had a lot of water in her yard. She was unable to contact Irrigon City Hall. MCSO received report of a driveoff from Boardman with a mid-size truck leaving with out paying for $28.87 in diesel, MCSO deputy was unable to locate and no BPD officer was on duty. MCSO received report of a possible DUII. A green-silver Chevrolet Suburban was all over the road. It appeared that subject may be lost. MCSO received report of a dog found in Lexington. Caller chained dog up. MCSO received request for deputy for a property line dispute. Caller said neighbor keeps cussing at caller’s boy. BPD received report of a stray dog in a yard. BPD received report of a drive off for $19.50 at Boardman Chevron. BPD cited Jeremiah Chad Levingston, 28, for Theft m. MCSO received report of a caller threatening to kill an Irrigon man. The number was identified and checked out by MCSO. MCSO received report of an alarm at Potlatch. It was fake. Justice Court Report The Justice Court office at the courthouse annex building in Heppner reports handling the following business: Timothy Sherwood-Criminal Trespass, 15 days in jail, $395 fine, $100 and jail sentence suspended with two years probation with no further violation of law. Births Payton Steele Lehman-a son, Payton Steele, was bom to Jessica and Jonathan Lehman of Boardman on July 26, 2000, at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton. The baby weighed 8 lbs. 11 oz and was 20" long. He joins brother, Kaden, 2Vi, at home. His grandparents are Charlie and Cindy Sumner of Lexington and Donald and Sharron Lehman, San Diego, CA. July 6: BPD received report from a Boardman resident who said he hadn't seen his girlfriend or his vehicle since July 1. BPD received report of phone calls in Boardman. Caller wanted to know what to do about it. MCSO received report of a dog attacking a girl in Boardman. The girl's mother said she spoke with the dog's owner and they said they'd chain it up, but it was running loose and it happened again. MCSO received report of a grey station wagon speeding through Irrigon heading to Washington. MCSO received report of debris in road on 1-84. HPD received report from a male subject that a subject took him out to slaughterhouse against his will and beat him up. OSP cited Robert Wade Eastep, 40, for attempting to elude, DUII, (Blood Alcohol Content was .00), Driving While Suspended-misdemeanor and Reckless Driving, Driving Uninsured and Violation of Basic Rule. MCSO, Irrigon Fire Department received report of a cloud of a gaseous chemical coming from south of an Imgon residence. July 7: MCSO deputy reported that he was out with a male walking toward Boardman. Deputy gave him a ride for gas and back to vehicle. BPD cited Jennifer Yoanne Bash, 18, for MIP alcohol. BPD, MCSO received report of a missing/runaway juvenile possibly staying at a Richland address. She had been missing since February 3. MCSO received report of a missing month-old calf in Irrigon area. MCSO received report of a verbal domestic dispute. The female caller said her husband is leaving and wants to take their son. MCSO received report from a Boardman man that his son has been missing since July 4. He called back and said son returned home.
