Tracy trained April herself and used her for court activities in 1999 as well. Queen Tracy invites everyone to the 2000 Morrow County Fair and Oregon Trail Pro Rodeo, which will be the best ever and a great show, and hopes to see everyone there. Princess Rachel Faber (t-R) Princess Rachel, Queen Tracy and Princess Salii Queen Tracy Rankin Queen Tracy Rankin is the 17 year old daughter o f Tim and Kathy Rankin of Heppner. Tracy has two older sisters, Bobbie and Jennifer. Tracy graduated from Heppner High School this spring. Tracy is a long-time member of 4-H, participating in sheep and horse 4-H for eight years. Tracy has also been involved in poultry 4-H for two years. Tracy competes in the Morrow County 4-H Horse Show as well as the Morrow County Open Horse Show. She is also a member of Wranglers Riding Club, Barrel Club and has been a member of FFA. Tracy is also involved in many school activities. She has been a member of volleyball, basketball, track and golf teams and has been a member of Wildhorse, Outdoor, OSSOM, and drama clubs. Tracy is no stranger to life on the rodeo court or the Morrow County Fair and Oregon Trail Pro Rodeo. Tracy carried sponsor flags for the OTPR for two years and she was a pennant bearer for the court in 1997. In 1999, Tracy was a princess on the court under her sister, Bobbie's reign. The horse Tracy is using for court activities is a seven-year- old Quarter Horse named April Nineteen-year-old Rachel Faber was bom in Umatilla. All of her life she has been a resident of Eastern Oregon, living in Hermiston, Pendleton and now Echo, where she lives with her parents, John and Karen Luciani, on Butter Creek. Rachel is a recent graduate of the class of 2000 from Heppner High School. As well as graduating from high school this last year, Rachel also attended and graduated from John Casablanca's School of Modeling in Beaverton. Her last few summers have been spent working wheat harvest on the family farm, driving truck and being the cook. She loves the country life where animals are abundant and there is lots of room to jump on her horse and ride for miles. Her horse is a beautiful, bald face, seven year old, Quarter Horse sorrel gelding, named Mia Good, but he is known by all as Ebbie. Rachel’s' love of horses made her decide she would like to be a rodeo princess. Her past horse experience has been mostly showmanship in 4-H, open horse shows, pleasure riding and, among her favorites, riding in the e n % o \f\ mountains. Other than her horses, her best friends include her dogs! Annie, a Dalmatian, and Bear, an American Eskimo. They are her constant companions and are up for going on a ride no matter where or when. She has an exceptionally special way with animals and would like to pursue dog training some day. Rachel's hobbies are horse riding, dog training, snowboarding, golfing, playing the piano and spending time with her friends. In the fall Princess Rachel plans to attend Blue Mountain Community College. Princess Salli McElligott Princess Salli McElligott is the 16-year-old daughter of Paul and Charity McElligott of lone. She has an older brother, Jeremiah, and a younger sister, Diana. Salli will be a junior this fall at lone High School where she is an honor student. She has been a past class president, was chosen for the HOBY leadership award, and is a National Honor Society member. Salli stays busy throughout the school year ., , . help," g of W'th the OSSOM yCar b° club ° k' member FBLA, and a member of the lone Youth group. She has been a member of the volleyball teams at lone that won back-to-back state championships the last two years. She participates in basketball and tennis also. Salli has been a 4-H member for the past seven years, competing in horse, swine and sewing. She was a pennant bearer for the court for the past two years and also helped carry sponsor flags during the pro rodeo. Salli has been a member of Cayuse Jr. Rodeo, where she roped, barrel raced and pole bended. Salli's official mount for the year has been her 15-year-old sorrel running Quarter Horse named J.R. Salli enjoys meeting people, making new friends and has enjoyed her year with Queen Tracy and Princess Rachel. Princess Salli is looking forward to seeing you at the Morrow County Fair and Oregon Trail Pro Rodeo. Morrow County Fair, Aug. 16-19 The Morrow County Fair is a county-wide showcase of agriculture, crafts, industry and business. It provides county residents the opportunity for the exhibition of livestock, poultry, farm and horticultural products, and articles of arts, crafts and beauty. The fair can boast about the "Echoes of the Past" with the improvements to the fair and rodeo facilities and look forward to the 21 st Century with new and exciting events to attend at your facilities. The fair is an educational event made possible by the year-round efforts and hard work of members of the Morrow County Fair Board, Fair Committee, Rodeo Committee, Superintendents and volunteers. Funds for operation of the Morrow County Fair are derived from a small appropriation from Morrow County, admission charges, rental fees and from the State of Oregon.
