The facility and land-application site is located within the Lower Ujnatilla Basin Groundwater Man agement Area, which has been designated as such by the Depart- iflKWwPe'EifViWnmeotaI Quality because groundwater nitrate con centrations exceed 10 mg/1 in a widespread area. WHO IS AFFECTED: Per sons who reside downstream and in the vicinity of the Sixmile Dairy site. NEED FOR PERMIT: This permit is required by Oregon Re vised Statute (ORS) 468B.050 and by ORS 468B.200 et seq. DESCRIPTION OF DIS CHARGES: Sixmile Dairy will generate wastewater from dairy animal confinement and milk pro duction. Sixmile proposes to ben eficially land-apply the wastewa ter on agricultural crops. SPECIAL CONDITIONS: The proposed permit requires Sixm ile D airy to prepare a Hydrogeologic Characterization Report. There are other conditions related to operating and modify ing the wastewater treatment and disposal system. COMPLIANCE HISTORY: The facility has not received any water quality related Notices of Noncompliance (NONs). The Department has no records of any water quality related complaints. On and after the 15 day of June, 2000, it shall be unlawful for the following classes of livestock to be permitted to run at large within the boundaries of the live stock district: animals of the bo vine species, horses, mules, asses, sheep, goats, swine and “exotic animals” included, but are not lim ited to, buffalo, bison, llama, os trich, emu, or any animal resulting from the crossbreeding thereof, or the crossbreeding of such exotic animals with domestic animals.
