By Rick Paullus Carroll College basketball team signs Nikki McElligott Carroll College head women's basketball coach Jim Gross has announced the signing of Nikki McElligott, a senior at lone High School. McElligott averaged 19.2 points per game and 13.7 rebounds per game for coach Dana Heideman at IHS, where she was all-state in both basketball and volleyball. The Loggers scored three runs in the top of the first, but the Mus tangs came back with two on a three RBI double by Kelly Paullus. Stanley Cutsforth went three By Rick Paullus A late start because of the state basketball tournament and several wet days limited the Heppner Mustang baseball team’s time to learn and practice, resulting in a 1-3 record in the early pre-sea son. The Mustangs traveled to The Dalles on Tuesday, March 14 and suffered an 11-10 setback against Wahtonka in a cold, rainy game shortened by darkness. The Mustangs committed eight of their 10 errors in the first two innings and fell behind 9-3. Greenfield grange plans flea market Greenfield Grange in Boardman will hold a flea market on Friday and Saturday, April 7- 8, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The flea market will feature carnival games for kids, a baked foods sale and the Boardman Garden Club plant sale.
