ert MacDonald of Heppner, re­
cently completed U.S. Navy ba­
sic training at Recruit Training
Command, Great Lakes, IL.
During the eight week program,
MacDonald completed a variety
o f training which included class­
room study and practical instruc­
tion on naval customs, first aid,
firefighting, water safety and sur­
vival, and shipboard and aircraft
safety. An emphasis was also
placed on physical fitness.
MacDonald is a 1997 graduate
of North Eugene High School,
Eugene.

Christopher L. Gibson has
graduated from One Station Unit
Training (OSUT) at Fort Knox,
Ky. The training included basic
military training and advanced
individual training.
The first eight weeks o f initial
entry training included basic
combat training, drill and

courtesy,

justice,
physical fitness, first aid and

training, the soldier was trained
