By Rick Paullus

season with a 50-19 win on
Saturday, Nov. 14, in the first
round of the State 2 A playoffs in
a game played at Cascade High

The Mustangs received the

third down.
After Regis had a first and
goal at the six, Blake Knowles
sacked the quarterback for an II
yard loss to the 17.
Two
incomplete passes made it fourth
down and Michael Schonbachler
and Josh Hill tackled the runner
for a three- yard loss, giving the
Mustangs the ball at their own
20 yard line.
The Mustangs were forced to
punt as they couldn't move the
ball which was blocked and
recovered by the Rams at the

Matteson
then

Tim
Dickenson for 42 yards down to
the 14 of Regis. On a fourth
down from the 10, Scott ran in
for the touchdown. Knowles'
kick was good to give the
Mustangs their only lead of the
game at 7-6 with 2:16 left in the
first quarter.
Regis took over at the 50 yard
line after an unsuccessful on
side kick.
The Mustangs
defense held as Casey Evans and
