New 4-H dairy
club organized
Are you interested in raising a
dairy calf? Why not consider
joining a new 4-h dairy cattle
club?
An organizational meeting is
being planned for next month.
The club will elect officers and
plan the next year's agenda.
All members of the club will
raise and prepare a dairy animal
for show at the Morrow County
Fair. Unlike market animals
which are sold at fair, a dairy
heifer may be shown for several
years consecutively or raised as
a dairy replacement, said
organizer Faith Healy.
4-H is available to anyone in
Morrow County in grades four
through 12.
For more information call
Healy, 676-5762, or Bill
Broderick at the 4-H Extension
office, 676-9642.

"The times, they are a changing."
Just look around at the new faces
and places. Kuhn, Spicer, Mills
and Morrow County Abstract
have undergone a facelift. Looks
great. Then there's Corbin's Bowl
... what a spot for a sixties party.
The restaurant has taken on a new
look. The only thing missing is
the juke box. Check it out.
New managers at the motel;
TKO is expanding with Ruggs
Ranch Bed and Breakfast; new
owners at Green Feed; fix up
those boots or have some custom
made at Wall's custom leather
goods; new faces at the BP
station. Sure will miss having my
car cleaned inside when it went to
Cal for attention. We appreciate
you. Cal, for great customer
service We can all learn from
you. We're not happy to be losing
Miller's Mini-Mart and have put
on our thinking caps... If you're a
new business in town, stop by the
Chamber office and introduce
yourself-helps keep us on our
toes. Welcome and here's to your
future in Heppner.
Valuable lessons may be learned
from the long-timers in Heppner.
Chamber is proud to have Jim
Farley, Frank Anderson and Irv
Rauch still on the membership
roster. They were active in the
beginnings of the Chamber some
50 years ago and are still behind
the organization. What changes
they have seen. Randall Peterson
takes the honor of being in
business the longest and a great
business it is.
It's both a treat and learning
experience to take time to visit
with our very important "long-
timers".
Looking back. . . looking
forward.
That's what it's all
about. We have much to be
thankful for as Thanksgiving Day
approaches and we move toward
year end. The Chamber and
retailers are working on the
second best ever light parade in
Heppner, to be held on Thursday,
Dec. 3. Get ready, get set to
celebrate together and have
community fun.
