To the Editor:
As someone who makes a

Soon Oregonians will be asked

Measure 57 asks whether the

The truth is 99 percent of all
addicts start out trying alcohol
and/or tobacco first before
moving on to harder drugs.
The American Medical
Association advocates the use of
marijuana as a relatively safe
alternative medicine with fewer
side effects than aspirin. One
hundred thousand Americans die
annually from adverse reactions
to prescription drugs. Other
medications are expensive,

ineffective.

Having recently read Farm

Soon it will be time to elect

According to the article, there is

As a business owner and

Congressman Bob Smith for 12
years, I think it is important that
our next congressman be
someone who has experience in
the real world of both business
and life. Someone who not only
knows what it's like to meet a
payroll, but who also knows
what it's like to rearrange a
schedule to attend a parent-

Candidates like that are hard to
find. But not this year. Former
State Senator Greg Walden, who
is running for Congress, is a
successful small business owner,
a devoted father and husband
and a person who has given a
significant amount of time to his
community and church. We
couldn't ask for someone with a
more well-rounded background.
