Lundells celebrate 60th anniversary
I
In 1969, the Lundells moved
from the ranch to Eugene, where
Raymond worked as a safety
compliance officer for the state
of Oregon. He retired in 1984.
The couple have six
grandchildren and six great
grandchildren. "Their home has
been the center of love and
activity for family and friends
alike throughout the years."

1938
The Oregon Trail Library
District has proposed a state-of-
the-art
bookmobile
for
Boardman,
Heppner
and
surrounding
communities,,
according to director Tony
Chavez.
The Neighborhood Reader
Wagon, a 35-foot bookmobile in
a fifth-wheel configuration with
a capacity for approximately
4,000
volumes,
on-board
Internet access and a display
case for museum exhibits, has
received support from a federal
grant in the amount of $88,036.
The award is contingent upon
community support for operating
funds.
The proposed Reader Wagon
would extend library services to
schools, senior centers, trailer
courts, stores, parks and other
locations, said Chavez.
People who reside in
surrounding
communities
outside district boundaries
would be able to access the
bookmobile by supporting a $25
per year fee or by petitioning to
join the district.
Voters will have an opportunity
to decide on the bookmobile on
November 3, Chavez said.
Sandy Matthews with painting
The Morrow County Creative
Arts and Crafts Club is holding a
raffle of a painting.
The painting, which is by
Robert Walton and depicts an
outdoor scene with people on
horseback, is now on display in
the Heppner TV window.
The painting will be moved to
other downtown shops. Tickets
are not available at Heppner TV,
but may be purchased where the
painting is displayed.
Tickets are available for two
for $5 or five for $10. The
drawing will be held in March.
