Local ribbon winners in the Horses-Intermediate English Equitation-Hunt Seat class are as follows: Intermediate English equitation-hunt seat: Sibbea Jones, Heppner, red ribbon; Senior English equitation- hunt seat: Sybil Krebs, lone, New therapy pool hours have been announced at the Willow Creek Waterpark. News deadline 5p.m. Monday Tailgate party set Sept. 11 A tailgate party, sponsored by the Heppner Booster Club, will be held this Friday, Sept. 11, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Morrow County Fairgrounds before the Heppner High School football game against Umatilla. Dinner will include barbecued Lexington News ______ By Delpha Jones______ hamburgers, hot dogs, chili burgers, chili dogs, chips brownies and a drink. The price for a hamburger or cheeseburger meal will be $3; chili burger meal, $4; chili dog meal, $2.50; and hot dog meal, $1.50. The "Harvest Day" celebration held in Lexington recently was well attended. The celebration included a horse shoe pitching contest, roping of a mechanical bull (which could kick hard) a hay bale with horns, a street dance and lots of visiting by friends and relatives. Dinner consisted of spaghetti, green salad and garlic bread, all you could eat. Let's keep in mind of the next year's celebration and plan to attend. Dale Breeding and friend of Vancouver, WA were Lexington callers Saturday. Visitors at the home of Gene and Chirella Wallace recently were her mother Anna Smith and a sister and son Peggy and Ryan Balkman from Randolph, NY. They were met in Portland by Missy Wallace and were taken back to the plane by Chirella. They visited The Dalles interpretive center, Cascade Locks and other points The Way reunion held Sunday at the Lexington Grange Hall was well attended. A bountiful dinner and visiting were greatly enjoyed. “ Lexington Holly Rebekah Lodge met Thursday at the friendship park for the first meeting of the fall. The meeting was presided over by the Noble Grand Kathy Clark. Plans were made for the McNary district meeting later this month in Pendleton. Luella Taylor was presented her seal for the unwritten work. The card party will be the second Saturday in October. Lexington Grange will meet the third Monday in September. Edgar and Frances Murty are spending some time with their family in John Day. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Taylor had a visit from their son, Bob, from Baker City on Sunday. Visitors at the Ray Marten home for the Way reunion were Jim and Cathy Marten and family. Visitor at the Way reunion was Kenneth Marshall, a former resident of Lexington who came with his son Bud.
