of the teleconference will be
shown at the lone Grange
starting at 8:30 a.m.

The Oregon Wheat Commis
sion (OWC) will hold a regular
meeting on Monday, Feb. 9 at
Cousins’ Restaurant in The Dalles
at 10 a.m. The research review
meeting will be held the next day
at 9 a.m. at the same location.

BMCC sign language classes offered
Beginning Sign Language will
be offered in Irrigon beginning
Wednesday, Jan. 28. This Blue
Mountain Community College
(BMCC) class will cover the ba
sics of elementary sign language.
The course, to be held at Co
lumbia Middle School in Irrigon,
will run from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on
Wednesdays. Cost of the course
is $20 and preregistration is re

The American Legion and
Auxiliary will hold their regular
meeting at the United Methodist
Church basement on Monday,
Jan. 26. A potluck supper will
begin at 6:30 p.m.
All members are encouraged to
attend and help plan the year’s
activities.

Bulletin Board
There were 65 present for the senior meal Wed., Jan 14, even
though the weather was terrible.
Fifteen meals were home
delivered. Members of the Christian Missionary Fellowship
served. The Senior Board met at 1 p.m. in the office. Bingo was
played in the dining room from 1 to 3 p.m.
The menu for the birthday dinner Jan. 28 will be ham and white
beans, coleslaw, jello and cottage cheese, sliced bread and cobbler.
This menu was changed from Jan. 21 to Jan. 28. Members of the
Episcopal Church will serve.
There were 34 present for the Friday breakfast and five home
delivered meals.
The menu for breakfast Jan. 23 will be egg and muffin, bacon,
fruit, hot and cold cereal, orange juice, milk and coffee.
One table of pinochle was in play Friday after noon. There was no
Sunday movie.
Georgina McDaniel has been visiting her mother, Sylvia, for a
few weeks. She will be returning to Salem soon. Sylvia gave a
birthday party for her Monday evening, Jan. 19, inviting all the
other tenants to help celebrate.
Tenant Jack Erwin returned from his vacation in Arizona a few
days ago. He reports that the weather there was much the same as
here, except for our snow.
Friends of the Springer family prepared and served dinner at the
Senior Center following the funeral services for Violet. The
seniors also wish to express their sympathy to the family.
