TWO - Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, December 31,1997 Sheriff's Report The Morrow County Sheriffs office reports handling or dispatching the following business during the past several weeks: MCSO received a request for an officer concerning a man who alleges that the Imgon Fire Chief was harassing him. Boardman Police Department received a report of a man planning to repossess a car in Boardman. MCSO received a report of three suspicious persons at a residence in Irrigon. MCSO received a request for an officer from a man concerning his wife and possible drug use. Boardman Ambulance received a report of a woman who had too much to dnnk and was passing out at Boardman Texaco. The woman was having trouble breathing and was transported to Good Shepherd Hospital in Hermiston. MCSO received 4 report of a lost Doberman puppy near Lexington. The owner was contacted and the dog was returned. MCSO received a report of an alarm at Boardman Health Care. MCSO received a report of a power outage to Morrow County at 3:40 p.m. Boardman Police Department received a report of a man running from a vacant house in Irrigon. Boardman Police Department received a report of a man who took a TV from a residence in Boardman. Heppner Police Department received a report of a possible Driving Under the Influence in Heppner. The vehicle was reported to have left Lexington and traveling toward Heppner at a high rate of speed. MCSO received a report of the flood computer alarm going off, but no change in stream or precipitation. Dec. 15, MCSO received a report of a van on its side on Highway 74 milepost 40 with the lights still on. The driver was not injured. MCSO received a report of a head on, non-injury accident at a railroad overpass on Highway 730. MCSO received a report o f a property line dispute in Board- man concerning a fence. MCSO received a report of a man and a woman hitting each other at the Irrigon Post Office, then getting into a green Blazer and heading north toward the Ir rigon Annex. Officers were un able to locate the vehicle. Boardman Police Dept, ad vised the MCSO of a criminal mischief complaint in the county. MCSO received a report of a missing person. MCSO received a report that the clock stopped on the flood computer. The com puter was rebooted. • MCSO received more informa tion on a missing dog complaint. MCSO received a report of a motor vehicle accident on High way 26, milepost 48-54. A semi- truck had run into the guardrail and blocked part of the lane. The road was reported to be very slick. MCSO patched to Poison Con trol a report of a four year old who had put compound jell on her lips. MCSO dispatched to the Boardman Police Dept, and am bulance a report of an 80 year old woman who was sweaty and feel ing dizzy. She had had heart prob lems previously. The patient was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Hermis ton. Dec. 16: MCSO sheriff was advised of a suspicious vehicle with no lights on turning onto Wilson Road from the Bombing Range Road. When the sheriff caught up with the vehicle, its lights had been turned on. MCSO sheriff and the lone Emergency Medical Technicians responded to a request for an ambulance for a woman who had fallen out of bed and her husband could not get her up. The woman was dead on arrival of the ambu lance. MCSO received a report of a sensor coming on at a home. The owner determined it was probably just her cat. MCSO received a report of a suspicious phone call. Someone had contacted a woman about a secretarial job and said they were sending someone to her house I right away. Columbia Middle School in Ir rigon requested an officer to cite a juvenile for Minor in Posses sion-Tobacco. MCSO received a report of sus picious happenings at a residence. The owner said someone had bro ken her outdoor water lines and then she noticed her prescription medications were mixed. MCSO and the Oregon State Police responded to a report of a drunk driver on 1-84 eastbound. MCSO dispatched to the Or egon State Police a report o f a whole tire on the road causing a hazard. MCSO officer reported that he was passed by a vehicle at a high rate o f speed on 1-84 east o f Patterson Feny Road. The vehicle was stopped. MCSO received a report o f gunshots behind a residence in Irrigon. MCSO received a report that a man had information about guns stolen from his residence. MCSO received a report o f an intrusion alarm at the Boardman Auto Repair. MCSO received a report of two newer style pickup 4x4s racing each other and going 80 mph and higher. MCSO received a report o f a residence broken into in Board- man while the owners were gone. MCSO received a report o f a suspicious vehicle around a resi dence and Greg’s Tavern in Irri gon. MCSO received a report of a car broken into at the Irrigon BP station and an amp was taken. Brian Rystedt, 19, was cited for Unlawful Operation of an ATV on the highway, Driving Unin sured, and Reckless Driving. Dec. 17: MCSO received a re port o f a m otion alarm at Beecher’s Restaurant in lone. The owner, who was en route, said that there were a lot o f Christmas decorations and the alarm was probably false. MCSO received a report of a sorrel gelding with a white star eating hay at a place on Paul Smith Road. MCSO received a report of a missing 15 year old last seen on Dec. 15. The girl’s six month old baby was with her. MCSO received a report of a dog coming onto a neighbor’s property and growling at a resi dent. MCSO sheriff talked to the dog’s owner. MCSO received a report of a car that ran off the road on 1-84 eastbound. The driver was okay. MCSO received a report of a dumpster fire out of control in the back parking lot at Inland Empire Bank. The fire was put out. MCSO dispatched to the Fish and Wildlife Dept, a report of a deer hit at Three Mile Canyon. MCSO received a report of a man locked out of his pickup. The man was advised that the MCSO and Heppner Police Dept, don’t unlock vehicles, and was referred to Skaggs. Dec. 18: MCSO dispatched to the Arlington Fire Dept, and am bulance a report of a man trapped under dirt and concrete, but talk ing to rescuers trying to dig him out. The patient was transported r to Mid-Columbia Medical Cen ter in The Dalles. MCSO received a report of a small red car on 1-84 traveling in excess of 85 mph and refusing to yield for the ambulance. MCSO received a report of an emergency at Irrigon Planning Dept. All was reported to be okay. MCSO relayed an emergency message to a woman in Irrigon that her father was dying. MCSO received a report of glass and debris along the edge of Wilson Road. MCSO dispatched to the Hepp ner city crew a report of an alarm buzzing into St. Patrick’s Senior Center. MCSO received a report of a child screaming at the Country Garden Estates in Irrigon. MCSO received a report o f suspicious circumstances at the Buttercreek- Echo junction. A man in a dark blue Dodge Dynasty pulled in front of another vehicle, slammed on his brakes, got out of the rig, put his hand in his vest like he was going to pull a gun, then suddenly got back in his rig and sped off. MCSO received a report of a theft in Imgon. Dec. 19: MCSO received a re port of a man sitting on a guard rail at the junction o f 1-84 and Highway 730. Officer was unable to locate anyone. MCSO dispatched to the Boardman Police Dept, a report of a car hit at Desert Springs Es tates in Boardman. The mirror was broken off the vehicle. MCSO received a request for a welfare check. A girl was to have been on a plane to Colorado Springs, but didn’t make it. The girl was located and was okay. MCSO dispatched to the Boardman Fire and Police depts., ambulance and the Oregon State Police a report of a one vehicle rollover with injuries at 1-84, milepost 162.5. The vehicle was in the median on its top with smoke coming out of it. No one was in the vehicle. One patient was transported to Good Shep herd Community Hospital in Her miston. MCSO received a report of a silver Pontiac Grand Am swerv ing on 1-84 westbound from the Highway 730 junction. MCSO received a request from an lone woman to talk to an of ficer. MCSO dispatched to the Boardman Police Dept, a report of a dog problem at Wilson Road Trailer Court in Boardman. MCSO received a report of a suspicious male harassing every one at the Boardman 1-84 east- bound rest area. MCSO dispatched to the Boardman Police Dept, a report of a male possibly a vagrant bel ligerent to customers at the Nug get Inn in Boardman. MCSO sheriff, Heppner Police Dept, responded to a report of a possible Driving while Under the Influence of Intoxicants heading northbound from Heppner in a tan and w hite pickup. George Hibbard, 42, was cited for Driv ing while License Suspended felony, DUII, Failure to Carry Proof of Insurance. The vehicle was towed. MCSO dispatched to the Hepp- ner Police Dept, a report of a bur glar alarm at the Heppner DMV office. All was secure. MCSO received a report of sus- picious circum stances at the Texaco and then BP station and possibly the man was involved in an earlier incident. MCSO received a report of a man appearing to be trying to force his way into a vehicle that already had people in it. Dec. 20: MCSO sheriff ar rested David Anthony Ridgeway, 34, for Disorderly Conduct, for causing a disturbance at Bake's Restaurant. MCSO received a report of a man shooting too close to a bam and frightening animals. MCSO received a report of a problem between a man and his estranged wife. MCSO received a report from the wife in the previous entry that her estranged husband wouldn’t let her retrieve her property from their home and tried to prevent her from leaving by sitting on her car. MCSO dispatched to the Boardman Police Dept, and am bulance a report o f a man at Lamb-Weston having seizures. MCSO received a report of a man digging on a woman’s prop erty trying to hook up the neighbor’s TV cable without per mission. MCSO received a report of a shoe, sock and what appeared to be a leg on the side of 1-84 east- bound, milepost 163-164. Turned out to be a boot. MCSO dispatched to the Boardman Fire Dept, a report of grass clippings on fire in a field between two houses. The fire was put out. MCSO dispatched to the Hepp ner Fire Dept, a report of a large field fire less than one mile up Upper Rhea Creek, just out of Ruggs. MCSO dispatched to the Boardman Emergency Medical Technicians a report of a woman having trouble breathing at DSE in Boardman. The patient was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Hermis ton. MCSO received a report of a house broken into and guns miss ing from a house on Kunze Road in Boardman. MCSO received a report of a car vandalized at Little Buttcrcreek. MCSO received a report of a cow in the road on Paul Smith Road. MCSO received a report of a motor vehicle accident at an em bankment at Wyoming and First in Imgon. MCSO received a report of a dead dog across from Sentry Mar ket in Boardman. Dec. 22: MCSO dispatched to ODOT a report of a deer hit on I- 84 eastbound near Boardman. Boardman Police Dept, ad vised MCSO that a .22 pistol with a pearl handle had been found and returned to owner. MCSO received a request for a welfare check on a woman in Irrigon. Her grandson said he had not been able to reach his grand mother and was concerned be cause his grandfather who has Alzheimer’s, had hit her before. MCSO dispatched to the Boardman Police and Fire depts. a report of smoke from a garage area of a duplex on Wilson Lane. It turned out to be steam from a dryer. MCSO received a report of a male digging a hole along 1-84, exit 147. The male was reported to have a blue taip. MCSO deputy located the subject and gave him a ride to Irrigon. Dec. 23: MCSO dispatched to the Heppner Police Dept, a report of a German Shepherd with a red collar dragging a chain walking behind Bucknum’s Tavern. MCSO received a report of someone driving through a cable fence and causing damage at Co lumbia Middle School in Imgon. MCSO dispatched to the Or egon State Police a report of a disabled car with a flat tire parked over the fog line at 1-84 east- bound, milepost 146. The OSP towed the vehicle because it was a hazard by blocking part of the fast lane. MCSO deputy, Boardman Po lice Dept, responded to a report of a motion alarm at a residence in Boardman. There was no sign of entTy and all the doors were secure. Dec. 24: MCSO dispatched to the Heppner Police Dept, a report of a John Deere tractor vandalized in Heppner. MCSO deputy, Boardman am bulance responded to a report of an ill person at the Boardman BP station. The patient was trans 'Savings ported to Good Shepherd Com munity Hospital. MCSO deputy responded to a call of a man beating a woman in Imgon. A woman said her chil dren saw the man hit the woman and heard her crying loudly, but the woman was refused entrance to the residence. Walter Emest G erard, Jr. was arrested on charges of Assault IV (Domestic) and lodged at the U m atilla County Sheriffs office jail. MCSO received a report of people planning to be away from their residence on vacation. MCSO dispatched to the Hepp ner Police Dept, a report of an intrusion alarm at Klamath First Federal bank. The call was can celled as a courier had set the alarm off. MCSO received a report o f a person speeding past a home in Imgon. MCSO received a report of people who were to be at a cabin at Blake’s Ranch, but who had not shown up. They were discovered on the Western Route stuck in the snow. Dec. 25: MCSO received a re port of a vehicle driving in the Marina after closure. An officer was unable to locate anything. MCSO received a report o f a harassment complaint. MCSO received a report of an intrusion alarm sounding at the west door of the Boardman Medi cal Clinic. It was set off by the cleaning people accidently. MCSO dispatched to the Hepp ner Police Dept, a report of an alarm at Les Schwab in Heppner. MCSO received a report of a cow dog who followed someone home. MCSO responded to a report of a man who was chasing a woman and having a verbal dispute. The officer was unable to locate any one. The woman was later located and given a ride home. MCSO dispatched to the Hepp ner Police Dept, a report of a pos sible child dbuse. MCSO dispatched to the Boardman Police Dept, a report of a 15 year old girl who had run away while visiting with her fa ther at his brother s house in Boardman. The daughter was lo cated and decided to go home. Dec. 26: MCSO received a re port of an intrusion alarm at a resi dence in Boardman. MCSO received a report of a BE READY TO GO!
