Morgan St., Sunday, Dec. 7, at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m., according to Pastor Tim Van Cleave. Bos was bom in The Netherlands and was raised in a Dutch Reformed home. His desire to become involved in ministry and missions started when he was about 10 years old, while he was attending a Sunday school class where missionaries were talking about their experiences on the field. "Having been raised under extremely difficult circumstances and, after a period of teen age rebellion, he forgot about his vision, but God didn't," said a news release. "When God regained his attention, he re committed his life to the Lord, and was baptized with the Holy Spirit." Before long Bos was . involved in a Pentecostal church and in inner-city ministry. A few years later he married an American girl who worked with Youth With a Mission in St. Patrick's Senior Center Builetin Board There were 70 present for the Senior birthday dinner Nov. 26, and 15 meals were home delivered. Members of the Catholic Church served. Don Thorndike, director of the RSVP program, came over from Pendleton to thank volunteers and emphasize the importance of the volunteers. Many other out of town guests from Pendleton, LaGrande and Monument later attended Barton Clark's funeral service. The Senior Board met after the meal. Blood pressures were taken before the meal. The menu for the dinner Wed., Dec. 10, is "tater tot pie", mixed vegetables, fruit salad, rolls and cookies. Members of the Methodist church will serve. Hearing aid assistance will be given at 10 a.m. and blood pressures taken at 11 a.m. The Friday morning breakfast menu for Dec. 5 will be biscuits with sausage and gravy, fruit, hot and cold cereal, orange juice, milk and coffee. One table of pinochle was in play Friday afternoon, Nov. 28. There was no Sunday movie. The movie for Dec. 7 will be shown at the Struthers apartment, at 7 p.m. The seniors extend their deepest sympathy to the family of Bemice Nash who passed away Sunday evening. She was a long time resident here at the senior apartments, and a volunteer in the Senior Center office. She was a member of the exercise group and the Friday pinochle players. She will be missed by all the the seniors, especially the tenants. It's time to think about the annual senior bus trip to Hermiston to see the singing Christmas tree. All those interested in going should call or stop by the Senior Center. If enough people are interested we'll try to make arrangements for tickets and the bus. Other dates to remember are: Tues. and Thurs., 10 a.m., exercise; Wed., 11 a.m., blood pressures taken, (first Wed., hearing aid assistance, 10 a.m ), noon, senior meal; Friday, 8-10 a.m., breakfast, 2 p.m., cards; Sunday, 7 p.m., movie in apartment 301. Eleanor Gonty is still recuperating from broken bones in her ankle at her home. She is missed here at the center. She is a volunteer office receptionist at the sign-in table at the senior dinner, secretary of the Nutrition Site Committee and docs many other tasks. We need three volunteers for the office three hours once a week.
