People, for the most part, are so patient with all the construction. They continue to go about their business and their volunteerism while keeping the end result in their line of vision. Many are learning that walking a couple of blocks if they are physically able isn't bad after all; in fact, they feel better. Fair and Rodeo was exhausting, yet rewarding. All those hard working volunteers are to be commended. How wonderful the new bleachers were for folks to view excellent rodeo activity. And the fair with its best of show display and great entertainment offered new activities for one and all. The pool was open for everyone to cool off, while others relaxed at their RV site. Heppner offers more and more, but be careful. The secret is getting out that living in the middle o f nowhere, where the stars go on forever, the people are friendly and work together, and there's plenty of space, is the best place to be. Where did our summer go? Football, hunting, school, and leaves changing color are right around the comer. In the meantime, the Main Street Project moves along. Come down and watch the process, do a bit of shopping, dine out and get your card punched to win the Chamber member vacation giveaway luxury accommodations at your choice of six locations. Chamber will welcome BMCC President Nikki Harrington at the luncheon on Tuesday, August 26, at noon at Kate's.
