BPD and MCSO received a re­
port of people on bicycles and
walking on railroad tracks near
Columbia View Apartments in
Boardman;
to BPD a report of a male sub­
ject messing with telephone lines.
July 15: to HPD a report of a
car racing and squealing tires in
Heppner;
received report of man want­
ing to buy beer at BP Station in
Boardm an at 6:36 a.m . He
couldn’t buy it until 7 a.m.
received report of possible ani­
mal abuse in Irrigon. Two boys
were chasing cows with switches;
received request for assistance
in interviewing a teenage girl who
says she was sexually abused by
her father;

MCSO responded to a nine

on Bombing Range Road by
Finley Butte. One adult male with
a minor head injury was trans­
ported to Good Shepherd Hospi­
tal. Department of Enviromental

received report of a dog bite in
Irrigon;
to City of Heppner a report of
broken glass in roadway in front

Heppner;
received report of horses not
being fed at a place on Kunze
Road. The hay in the pasture was
black with mold;
received report of an assault
which occurred in Boardman;
received report of a 10 year old
hitting a 7-year old’s fingers with
a rock in Boardman. Parent says
finger may be broken and wants
to press charges.

July 17: received report of ve­
hicle in ditch on south side of
Usage Lane. Female driver not in­
jured but appeared to be intoxi­
cated;
received report o f a domestic
dispute in progress at Riverview
trailer court in Irrigon. Woman
reported to have a black eye. Ed­
ward A. Robertson, 22, was ar­
rested for alleged Assault IV do­
mestic and lodged at UCSO Jail;
to Heppner ambulance and
HPD a report of a man having a
reaction to his insulin. The patient
was transported to Pioneer Me­
morial Hospital;
to OSP a report of two hitch­
hikers who looked like two sus­
pects from Seaside homicide at I-
84 eastbound, milepost 107;

ting in the doorway of a residence
in Boardman. Man appeared to be

Mandi Gutierrez wins ag scholarship
Mandi Gutierrez, 17 year old
daughter of Barb Zeller, Heppner,
and Kevin Gutierrez, Pnneville,
was selected the 1997 recipient of
the Blue Mountain Potato Grow­
ers (BMPG) Agriculture Scholar­
ship.
The $1,000 scholarship was
awarded to her at the BMPG’s
annual steak banquet at the Her-
miston Convention Center. The
award was based on academics,
grade point average, community
involvement and interest in the
agricultural field.
Mandi will be a freshman this
year at Blue Mountain Commu­
nity College before furthering her
education at Oregon State Univer­
sity. She will be pursuing a de-

tions with a minor in child psy­
chology.
