January 1, 1997 Sheriff» Report The Morrow County Sheriff's office reports dispatching the following business during the past week: Dec. 23: Morrow County Sheriff's office received a report of a four-day-old infant having trouble breathing in Boardman; lone Fire Dept, received a report of a fire alarm sounding at the lone Market. They were unable to locate smoke; Morrow County deputy in vestigated a report of possible credit card fraud in Irrigon; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Boardman Police and Fire Depts. and am bulance to a rollover accident on 1-84 westbound, milepost 151. Two patients were trans ported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital; Boardman Emergency Medi cal Technicians received a re quest for an ambulance for a woman who had fallen; Morrow County deputy in vestigated a report of theft of calling card and phone ser vices; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of child ren finding a butcher knife in a field; Morrow County deputy in vestigated a report of a person in Irrigon whose home had been broken into. A window had been broken out, a faucet left on with water everywhere, and fixtures, lights and others household items broken; Heppner Police Dept, receiv ed a report of a pickup load of juveniles yelling at two wo men. Dec. 24: Morrow County deputy responded to a report of an intrusion alarm at Cas cade Specialities. A person de livering paperwork set it off; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of graffiti in West Glen, Boardman; Boardm an Police D ept, received a report of a gas tank leaking at Frontier Trailer Court, Boardman; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report from Portland Weather issuing a winter weather warning for north Morrow County for .25-1" of freezing rain expected along the Columbia River; Morrow County deputy responded to a report of a domestic dispute in which two people staying at a residence got in an argument with the resident of the home and took all the Christmas presents; Morrow County deputy responded to a report of a per son banging on doors and yell ing at residents; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice, Oregon State Police, Ore gon Dept, of Transportation, Boardman wrecker, two Action tows, Boardman Fire Dept., Arlington ambulance and Fire Dept., and Devin Tow receiv ed a report of ice in north Mor row County and vehicles off the road on 1-84. The Boardman Fire Dept, and ambulance and Arlington Fire Dept, and am bulance were called for ac cidents but they either were cancelled or were unable to locate. Vehicles accidents rang ed from milepost 148-172 on 1-84, but no injuries except a person at milepost 148 with a broken arm. ODOT was con tacted to activate the reader boards for the Interstate; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice and the Boardman Police Dept, received a report of an unwanted person at a resi dence; Boardm an Police D ept, received a report of three shots fired at or near Sandpiper Apts., Boardman. Dec. 25: Morrow County deputy investigated a report of loud music with a live band so loud it rattled windows in the West Glenn Addition, Board- man; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of a semi truck jackknifed on 1-84, mile post 154. No further action was taken; Oregon State Police received a report of a car with women and children in the ditch at 1-84 milepost 147-148. No injuries occured; Boardm an Police D ept, received a report of a two vehi cle accident on the corner of Main and Willow Fork. A tow and an interpreter were re quested; Oregon State Police received a report of a woman with a baby off the road and stuck on a road marker on 1-84 east- bound, milepost 138-139; Morrow County deputy responded to a report in Irrigon of a person who had backed in to another vehicle and left w ithout giving insurance information; Morrow County deputy responded to a report of a woman experiencing psycholo gical problems in Irrigon; Oregon State Police received a report of a car in the ditch at 1-84 milepost 143; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Boardman Emergency Medical Techni cians and the Fire Dept, for a report of a rollover on 1-84 east- bound, milepost 184. The call was cancelled, no injuries occured; Oregon State Police received a report of a car in the ditch at 1-84 eastbound, milepost 155. No injuries occured; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of a roll over on 1-84 eastbound, mile post 160. Dec. 26: Morrow County Sheriff's office dispatched the Boardman ambulance for a vehicle on its top on 1-84 east- bound, milepost 173. No in juries occured, the ambulance was cancelled; Morrow County deputy responded to a request for assistance in locating a securi ty guard at Potlatch on Home stead Road; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Lexington, Heppner and lone fire depts. for a fire at B Street in Lex ington. Two people inside were evacuated. The fire may have started in the attic; Heppner Police Dept, receiv ed a report of a car pulling a sled full of children. The sled was tied to the vehicle's bumper; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of a motorcycle driver not wearing a helmet coming into Heppner; Heppner Police Dept, receiv ed a request that the hill to the Sheriff's office be blocked off as children were sledding down the hill with vehicles still driv ing up and down the hill (Water Street). The city crew said they no longer did the blocking off, but the police dept, had authority to do it. The street was blocked off; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of an alarm at Potlatch. The report was cancelled, employee error; Heppner Police Dept, receiv ed a report of cones run over on Water Street; Boardm an Police D ept, received a report of an accident or a disabled vehicle on 1-84, Boardman exit. They were un able to locate the vehicle; Boardm an Police D ept, received a report of a Subaru wagon in a ditch at Wilson and Main in Boardman; Morrow County deputy in vestigated a report that a per son in a Mazda putting chains on was being harassed by another person on 1-84 west bound, milepost 123. It turned out to be a tow truck trying to assist the person; Morrow County deputy responded to a report of two vehicles in the ditch at 1-84 westbound, milepost 149. No injuries reported. The deputy was unable to locate the vehicles; Heppner Police Dept, receiv ed a report of someone driving over cones on Water Street; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of a prow ler at a residence in Irrigon. The subject said he thinks he scared them off with a toy gun. Dec. 27: Morrow County Sheriff's office received a report of a doctor overdue to Pioneer Memorial Hospital from Sno homish, WA. The hospital was advised that the main passes were closed and the phone lines were down; Heppner Police Dept, receiv ed a report of a disturbance at a residence in Heppner; Morrow County deputy responded to a report of a non injury accident, non-blockage rollover on Tower Road; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of a vehi cle in the traffic lane at the 1-84 offramp, Bombing Range Road. The vehicle was moved; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of a semi truck sliding on 1-84 eastbound; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice and Heppner Police Dept, received a report of a motorcy cle running up and down Riverside; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of a vehi cle off the road changing a tire; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice recieved a report of a pick up with a trailer rollover acci dent on 1-84 eastbound, mile post 157. The vehicle was up right, so it could go on its own; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of a pickup and boat rollover. No injuries occured; Boardman Police Dept, responded to a motor vehicle NOTICE OF VACANCY Columbia Basin Electric Cooperative, Inc. is notifying all members of a vacancy on the Board of Directors from Zone #5. The appointed person will serve until the next annual meeting of the Cooperative. The deputy gave the passengers a ride to Boardman; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice and the Army Corps of Engineers received a report that the water level on upper Hin ton Creek had gone to Level 2; Boardman Police Dept, were advised of a car in the ditch 1/4 mile west of Boardman, east- bound. The officer was unable to locate the vehicle; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice and Boardman Police Dept, received a report of a prowler at a burned house in Board- man. No one was inside and the building was secure; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of a car in the ditch at 1-84 eastbound, milepost 158-159. A Boardman tow responded. Dec. 28: Boardman Police Dept, received a report of a prowler in Boardman. The of ficer was unable to locate; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Boardman Fire Dept, and ambulance to a three car accident at 1-84 east- bound, milepost 168. No in juries occured; Morrow C ounty deputy responded to a report of a pickup which spun out and ended up in the ditch at 1-84 milepost 149. The deputy was unable to locate; Boardm an Police D ept, received a report of a fender bender; Boardm an Police D ept, received a report of a family disturbance; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of a motor vehicle accident on 1-84 1/4 mile west of Boardman. No injuries occured; Heppner Police Dept, receiv ed a report of children sledding on a road while cars were still using it; Morrow County deputy came across a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 730 near Pat terson Ferry Road. A tow was requested from Boardman; Boardm an Police D ept, received a 911 call from a child whispering that there was someone in the house. PTI was called for a trace. An adult answered the phone and hung up. The residence was check- ed-all the lights were off and no one would answer the door.
