Printer David Sykes, Publisher Letters to the Editor Sherer deserves your vote To the Editor: I believe an individual that has a record of doing one of the best jobs possible in supporting what was good and profitable for Morrow County deserves your vote. I worked with Margo Sherer over the years and know she has always kept first and fore most what was best for the Morrow County taxpayers. She has done her job in the past with your best interest being her first consideration. She has the knowledge and the back ground to continue to represent Morrow County in a profes sional and profitable manner. Your vote for Margo Sherer will help to assure that our county treasurer's office con tinues to run efficiently and be beneficial to all. (s) Jacki Allstott Heppner Re-elect Sherer To the Editor: I would like to encourage the people of Morrow County to mark their ballot on November 5 to re-elect Margo Sherer as Morrow County Treasurer. I have known and worked close ly with Margo in Soroptimist International, a business wo men's service organization well known in our community for 48 years. Also having served to gether in the offices of our club, we've worked closely over the years. Margo is highly accom plished as treasurer for our county and SIA, now serving Far from fair To the Editor: Let's not be caught sitting on the fence. Now is the time to let our urban friends and family know that Measure 38 is des tructive. It will destroy existing cooperative efforts and height en the level of conflict between urban and rural interests. The environmental groups sponsoring this initiative were clever in appealing this mea- III her sixth term as treasurer of the club. She knows her job well, is asked to advise on financial decisions and is one of the most organized persons I have known. I feel re-electing Margo to this position is a continued asset to our county government. Mr. Jim Kinzer from Salem ap parently does not personally know Margo because her situa tion in that matter has not one thing to do with electing this well-qualified lady. (s) Judie Laughlin Soroptimist of Heppner pres. sure to an ignorant voter. The ballot title is misleading and the proposed law drafted in a man ner that leads voters to think it is fair and reasonable. It is far from fair; it is extreme. Don't sit back and let your fellow voters be mislead. I hope you will urge others to vote no on Ballot Measure 38. Sincerely, (s) Geri Grieb Hermiston D r . 'D onald J . John is a self- made business man who has the time and devotion to spend making Morrow County a bet ter place. John has no ax to grind; he is connected to no "group” and has no hidden agendas. When you talk to John, you may not always agree with him, but you will know two things. First, he is not a politician who tells you what he thinks you want to hear; he will tell you as he sees it. Second, while he may not agree, he will listen to what you have to say and will think about it. Consequently, while John is definitely not wishy-washy, I have seen him change his mind when presented with good, solid evidence. What more could we ask for? John Wen holz deserves our votes for county commissioner. (s) Don Holes Irrigon B EG IN N ER S. IN T E R M E D IA T E . TREASURER Wenholz well suited To the Editor: John Wenholz, a candidate for Morrow County Commis sioner, has a background in business, construction and agriculture, and is well suited to provide leadership for all areas of the county. I have had the opportunity to work with John on various committees and have observed his involvement in numerous community activities over the past twenty years. During that time, he has shown he has the qualities necessary to make an excellent commissioner. He possesses good common sense and intelligence, is capable of making sound decisions, treats others with fairness and hones ty and is a good listener. These attributes, along with his dedi cation to public service, qualify him as an excellent choice for county commissioner. John Wenholz has earned by vote for Morrow County Com missioner.
