Game one, the Lady Mustangs held on to an early lead behind the strong serving o f Annie Hisler, 8/8 and Tracy Dickenson, 3/3. The team serving percentage in the first game was 86 percent, while Sherman County tallied 78 percent. The tables were turned in game two. Early on the Huskies were able to gain up to a four point advantage. The Fillies pulled even at 8, then surged ahead to lead 14-9. The Huskies battled back in a scoring frenzy to take the second game, 18-16. Serving ig stats tor for g£ game two again had Tracy Tracy Dick Dickenson at 100 percent but the Lady Mustangs as a team showed only 77 percent, while Sherman County had 81 percent. The Fillies showed what they are made o f in the hotly contested third game. The Lady Mustangs, which averaged a full two inches’ vertical disadvantage, just plain outplayed the Sherman County girls. The crowd saw the serve advantage change hands 28 times, with tne Huskies successful in a sizzling 92 percent o f their serve attempts. Although Kathleen Cireenup (3/3) and Stormy I loward (4/4) were perfect at the serv ice line, the team turned in a dismal 77 percent. Despite their serving woes, the Fillies took the game and the match for their second league victory. For the third time this season, Heppner’ s JV 's came out the victors over Sherman County, winning in two games. 15-12, 15-5. Serv ing has become the JV 's strong suit as they served a red hot 95 percent in game one, with Kim Pointer and Linsey Ropp getting the momentum rolling. Heppner started a totally new line-up in game two and didn't have much o f a chance to play the ball with sophomore Kathleen Greenup ripping o f f 11 straight serves to take an 11-0 lead. Pointer finished the match o f f with points 14 and 15. Heppner controlled the game and finished with a whopping 91 percent service rate by making 38/42 attempts. C-team did not have an opportunity to play since Snerman County is unable to field a third team.
