Willow Creek Country Club
(WCCC) junior golfers have
been preparing for the Uma-
tilla-Morrow Junior Golf Cham­
pionship, which was to be held
Tuesday, Aug. 20, in Echo.
Twenty-six young people
from the Heppner area parti­
cipated in the program. All of
the junior golfers who parti­
cipated graduated from the In­
land Empire Bank and WCCC
Junior Golf program. An
estimated 60 graduates were
expected to compete in the
tourney.
Instructor was Pete Strawick
of Kicks Driving Range and
Dee's Golf Shoppe in Umatilla.
One session was held at WCCC
and two were held at Umatilla.

will begin Sunday, Sept. 15 at
9:30 a.m.
A special pancake breakfast
in honor of the Sunday School
students will be held. All child-
ren are invited to attend.

Rule, 75 mph in a 55 mph zone,
$67 fine;
Jared Wicklund, 20, Pendle-
ton-Maintaining a Common
Nuisance, $331 fine, 30 days in
jail, $50 and jail sentence sus­
pended with one year proba­
tion with no further violation of
law.

honored with membership in
Golden Key, general universi­
ty scholarship and service
honorary society. Students
must be either juniors or
seniors with a minimum grade
point average of 3.3 to be eligi­
ble for membership.
Brent Sheirbon of Lexington
was inducted into Golden Key.
An information systems major,
Sheirbon is the son of Bill and
Deborah Sheirbon of Lexing­
ton.
