Senior Ccirter Bulletin There were 63 people present for the senior dinner June 26. Five meals were home delivered. Members of the Church of Latter Day Saints assisted the cooks, served and did the dishes after dinner. Don Robinson won the free meal ticket. Each per son present who had a birthday in June received a balloon. The florist shop also delivered a floral arrangement and balloons to Ruth Nutting at the senior dinner. These were a gift from her daughter and son-in-law on her birthday. Blood pressures were taken before the meal. The menu for July 10 will be chicken soup, sandwiches, vegetable tray, pears and brownies. Members of the Catholic church will serve. There were two tables of pinochle in play Friday, June 28. Six seniors watched the movie, "Betsy's Wedding", Sunday evening. The senior bus is scheduled for a trip to the Milton-Freewater meal site, Friday, July 12. Departure time is 9 a.m. Seats are still available. Anyone interested may sign up at the Senior Center or call the office 676-9030 to have their name put on the list. Other dates to remember: Tues. and Thurs., exercise, 10 a.m.; Wednesday blood pressures, 11 a.m.; senior dinner noon; Friday, cards 2 p.m.; Sunday movie, 7 p.m. Environmental stewardship tour set The Oregon Cattlemen's Association and the Morrow County Livestock Growers have planned the first annual Environmental Stewardship Tour Saturday, July 13, at the Hardman Allotment beginning at 8 a.m. A bus will leave the Morrow County Fairgrounds in Hepp ner at 8 a.m. Lunch will be at noon with the return to Heppner at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Local people attending the dinner are asked to bring a salad, main dish or dessert. Steak will be provided. Cost for the dinner is $8.50. A sack lunch will be available at a cost of $6.50. For more information, con tact Mark Reitmann, 676-9823. The Queen for the 1996 season is Melody Wrightman of Ontario High School. She has been active in high school cheerleading, the arts club and pep club. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is also a graduate of the Portland Shrine Hospital. She plans to continue her education into the medical field with serious consideration to a specialized surgical goal. The officials for the game have also been named. Jim Reeves of Cottage Grove, will fill the referees' position. Work ing with him will be Dan Wackier of Eugene as umpire. Linesman will be John Lynch of Klamath Falls. Line judge will be Bob Deno erf Pilot Rock. Back judge is Wil Dalton of Klamath Falls and side judge is filled by Steve Johnson of Umatilla. These officials donate their time and talents totally free of any obligation to the football association. An added attraction to this years game will be a souvenir auction at halftime along with the championship steer. One football from the National Foot ball Leagues' San Francisco 49ers and two caps, each of which has been autographed by Jerry Rice and Steve Young will be auctioned. There is a let ter of authenticity for each item signed by the 49ers line coach from Baker City. This year's game will be the 44th annual event in support of Shrine Hospitals for Crippled Children. It is rated as the number two fund raiser in North America and is accom plished solely on the basis of volunteer participation. No player, official, coach, commit tee member, physician or trainer receives remuneration for their service. Chris Sykes, Heppner will play at the game. they can stop by their local AT&T Wireless Services store. Reprogramming takes only a few minutes and is free to customers, said an AT&T news release. Upon review of these pro ject areas, the District decided to combine them under one EA in order to better disclose potential cumulative effects during analysis. The Big Guns EA project pro poses to harvest 3.0 MMBF across 950 acres. Of this, 280 acres would be salvage of dead trees and 670 acres would be commercially thinned to reduce overstocking and convert stands to the open, park-like ponderosa pine stands describ ed in the Historic Range of Variability.
