Angela Munkers took the rookie title, and this duo also took the ladies team title for the Columbia Basin High School Rodeo Club. Over 250 Oregon high school stu dents participated. Following are results for local high school students: Barrel racing-second Lexi Matteson, fourth Tiffanie Mun kers, seventh Angela Munkers, all Heppner. Breakaway roping-second Heppner/lone track meet held Tiffanie Munkers, seventh Lexi Matteson. Team roping-fourth Justin Matteson, Heppner. Cow cutting-fifth Tiffanie Munkers, seventh Angela Munkers. Steer wrestling-second Justin Matteson. Saddle bronc-first Nate Philbin, Maupin; fourth Tyson Shoemaker, The Dalles. Bareback-second Nate Phil bin. The next high school rodeo was held in Hermiston, April 26-28. • Heppner boys took second and lone boys fourth in last Fri day's Big Sky/Columbia Basin Pre-District track meet. Guests for the day were Melissa McElli- gott, Marie Tworek, Angie Ball, Stephanie Lemieux, Jeri Mc- Elligott, Lucy Tworek and Marge Ball. Topic Club members recalled their goals at that age and talk ed about reaching the goals. The guests told of their hopes for the future. Kerry Rietmann, Katherine Lindstrom and Alice Harper were the hostesses for the day. Katie Garrett sang a song for the group, and Rose Baker noted the history of the or ganization. These individuals are all to be complimented for their excel lent musical contribution to Heppner. Attendees participat ed in a lighthearted “ Two Truths and a Lie” exercise to see how well they know each other. Door prizes went to Patricia Peck of Morrow Coun ty Abstract and Title, and Sharon Harrison of Wells Fargo Bank. Don't forget the charter meeting to form a Morrow County Arts Council planned for Saturday, May 4, at Hope Lutheran Church, from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The meeting is open to all interested communi ty members. If the jacket left at the St. Patrick's lamb barbecue isn't claimed before long, it may be seen on some other male citizen of the community. Call the Chamber office, 676-5536, to describe.
