He was a 54-year member of the BPOE in Hepp ner and Pendleton and was a member of FOE #28. He also participated and belonged to the Heppner Wranglers Riding Club. Mr. Fetsch was an avid hun ter and fisherman. He also rode motorcycles, bowled and liked pinochle and dancing. Survivors include his wife, Irene, at home; sons, Larry D. Fetsch of Enid, Oklahoma and Robert L. Fetsch, Pendleton; daughter Marlene Currin, Heppner; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Step-children are Melvina Adolf, Bozeman, Montana, Gwyneth Kroiss, Colville, Washington, Brenda Walter, Kettle Falls, W ashington, David Willard, Connell, Wash ington, Mavis Willard, Pendle ton; 12 grand-children and four great-grandchildren. The family requests that con dolences be expressed in the form of contributions to Hos pice of St. Anthony Hospital, 1601 S.E. Court Ave., Pendle ton, OR. 97801. Burns Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Obituaries Alice Margaret Peter son Alice Margaret Peterson, 91, died at her home in The Dalles on Friday, March 22, 1996. Memorial serv ices will be held Saturday, March 30, at 1 p.m. at United Church of Christ Congregation, The Dalles. Mrs. Peterson was born November 19, 1904, in lone, the youngest of 10 children. Her parents, Paul and Margaret Rietmann, were one of the pioneer families of Morrow County, homesteading in lone in the 1880s. She married Vic tor G. Peterson on September 8, 1927, in Pendleton. Mrs. Peterson was a member of United Church of Christ Congregational. Her family and her church were the most im portant to her. Survivors include two sons, John Peterson, Tucson, Ari zona, and Allan Peterson, The Dalles; one daughter, Sally Fasulo, The Dalles; and six grandchildren, Carol Fitzpat rick, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, James Peterson, Seattle, Wash ington, Michael Peterson, Phoenix, Arizona, Thomas Peterson, Lincoln City, Derek Fasulo and Donnell Fasulo, both of Gresham; and one great-granddaughter, Ann Marie Fitzpatrick, Baton Rouge. Memorials in Mrs. Peterson's memory may be made to the U.C.C. Congregational Church or Care-A-Van in care of Smith Callawav, 311 Union St., The Dalles, OR. 97058. Olevia (Baldwin) John son Albert Lloyd Fetsch Albert Lloyd Fetsch, 82, of Pendleton, died Friday, March 22, 1996, at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 1996 at 3 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 215 N. Main St., Pen dleton. Disposition was by cremation. Mr. Fetsch was bom April 14, 1913, at Grants Pass to Emily and Karl Fetsch. The Fetsch family consisted of 10 siblings; all predeceased Mr. Fetsch. The family moved to Salem when Mr. Fetsch was two years old. Mr. Fetsch left Salem at age 14 and came to Eastern Ore gon, settling in the Heppner and Spray area. He worked with canner horses and farm ed with horses w hile growing up. He later became a wheat farmer in the Heppner and Pendleton areas, retiring in 1979. Mr. Fetsch met and married Edna O. Rauch in August 1938. Mrs. Fetsch died in October, 1990. In December 1990, he married Irene C. Willard, also of Pendleton. ' Mr. Fetsch rode and raced in the relay races at the Heppner and Pendleton rodeos. He helped construct and was a longtime member of the Hope Lutheran church in Heppner. He served on the ASCS Board and the Heppner Fair and Rodeo Board. He served as Olevia (Baldwin) Johnson, 78, born and raised in Hepp ner, died March 20, 1996, at the King Harbor Care Center, Bronx, New York. She had suf fered with diabetes for many years. Disposition w'as by cremation with interment next to her parents plots in the Reaney family plot. Mrs. Johnson was born at Heppner on January 15, 1918, to John Sheldon Baldwin and Nellie (Reaney) Baldwin. She attended grade school and high school at Heppner, graduating with the class of 1937. Mrs. Johnson was related to the Ed Duran and Ray Long families of Heppner on her mother's side and was a descendant of the large Reaney familv of Lexington. She had 25 cousins on her mother's side of the family, eight of whom are still living. Mrs. Johnson's brother Andy was the first bom of that generation. Gladys (Reaney) Hewitt of Salem was Mrs. Johnson's "sister" cousin and always remained close. Mrs. Johnson spent most of her working life in the food ser vice industry. For years she managed the dining room at The Dalles Hotel. She was a pleasant person and made friends easily. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her brother, Elmer. She is survived by her daugh ter, Malinda Drummond, Stamford, Conn.; a grand daughter, Andrea Drummond, Stamford; a brother, Andy, 93, Philomath; sister-in-law (El mer's widow) Carrol (Reed) Baldwin; nephews, Donald Baldwin, Sacramento, CA, and Jim Baldwin, Sweet Home; and a niece, Marlene (Baldwin) O'Brian, Milwaukie. High game: Betty McDonald 198 Former Grant County judge Kevin Campbell has filed with the Secretary of State seeking election to the State Senate from District 28. Campbell, a Democrat, cur rently operates Kevin M. Campbell Consulting Services, Inc. A native of Kimberly, he graduated from Monument High School in 1969 and receiv ed his bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Portland in 1973. He worked as a rancher for his father, Tom Campbell, from 1980-1984. Campbell then own ed and operated Howard Mer cantile in Kimberly from 1984-1988. Campbell served as county judge from 1989-1995. In addi tion to serving as county judge, he was a board member and served as president of the Association of Oregon Coun ties. He currently serves as a board member for the Oregon Youth Conservation Corps, Northeast Oregon Area Health Education Center (AHEC), the Oregon AHEC Program Ad visory Committee and the Ore gon State Aeronautics Advi- sory Committee. Campbell got his start in local government as a board member and chair of the Monument Soil and Water Conservation Dis trict and as budget committee chair for the Monument School District in the early 1980s. He later served as vice chair of the Oregon Soil and Water Conser vation Commission, chair of the Oregon Solid Waste Re gional Policy Commission and as a member of the Oregon Transportation Policy Commit tee. Campbell has filed a volun tary limitation of campaign ex penditures which allows con tributors to qualify for allow able Oregon income tax credits for contributions to his cam paign. "Iam well prepared to repre sent this district in the Oregon Senate," said Campbell. "1 have consistently been a strong advocate for rural communities and believe that the health of Oregon is directly dependent on the sustained vitality of its rural communities." . Campbell and his wife, Karen, currently live in Canyon City. They have two sons, Brian, 17, and Nathan, 14. Karen has worked as a regis tered nurse at Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day since 1980. District 28 is currently represented by Greg Walden (R-Hood River) who recently announced plans not to seek re- election in next November's election. The district includes all of Baker, Grant, Crook, Wheeler, Gilliam, Sherman, Hood River, the majority of Morrow, Wasco and portions of Clackamas and Multnomah counties. Births Ryan Allen Marlow-Perrin- a son Ryan Allen was born to Angela Marlow of Irrigon on March 2, 1996 at Good Shep herd Community Hospital in Hermiston. The baby weighed 8 lbs. 7 oz. Evette Calvillo Arroyo-a daughter Evette Calvillo was born to Olga Arroyo and Prudenciano of Boardman on March 2, 1996 at Good Shep herd Community Hospital. The baby weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. Kimberly LeeAnn Marler- a daughter Kimberly LeeAnn was born to Michelle Mayhead and Leon Marler of Irrigon on March 8, 1996 at Good Shep herd Community Hospital. The baby weighed 6 lbs. 4 oz.
