Jan. 7: Morrow County Sheriff's office dispatched the Boardman ambulance to a Boardman residence for an adult male with an illness. The patient was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Hermiston; Morrow County deputy responded to the West Glenn area in Boardman for an animal complaint; Morrow County deputy responded to Kunze Road, Boardman for a traffic problem. Jan. 8: Morrow County depu ty began a burglary investiga tion at an Olson Road resi dence; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Boardman ambulance to a single vehicle accident on Boardman Bomb ing Range Road. One patient was transported to Good Shep herd Community Hospital in Hermiston; Morrow County deputy began an investigation of non sufficient funds checks in the Irrigon area; Morrow County deputy con tacted a citizen regarding a vehicle they were unable to locate; Morrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area to assist the ambulance with a male who was reported ill; Morrow County deputies responded to assist the Board- man Police Dept, with a re ported neighborhood distur bance on Anderson Road; Morrow County deputy cited and released a 17 year old ju venile male for criminal tres pass in the Boardman area. The Morrow County Sheriff's office in Heppner reports dis patching the follow'ing business during the past three weeks: Jan 1: Morrow County depu ty began a stolen vehicle report for 1-84 at Tower Road. Jan. 2: Morrow County depu ty began a criminal mischief in vestigation in the lone area; Morrow County deputy responded to an Irrigon resi dence for a report of harass ment; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Heppner Fire Dept, to a haystack fire on Highway 74 milepost 42. Jan. 3: Morrow County depu ty began a criminal mischief in vestigation in the lone area. Jan. 4: Morrow County Sheriff's office dispatched the Arlington ambulance to a resi dence at Terrace Heights Trailer Park in Arlington for a female with an unknown illness. No transport was made; Morrow County deputy responded to the West Glenn Addition, Boardman, for a re port of an animal problem; Morrow County deputy ar rested Timothy Hoyt Sher wood, 39, Heppner, on three Morrow County warrants for Sex Abuse I, Sex Abuse III, and Encouraging Child Sex Abuse I. Sherwood was transported and lodged at the Umatilla County Jail; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Boardman ambulance to a residence at Sunridge Terrace, Boardman, for a male with an unknown in jury. The patient was transport ed to Good Shepherd Com munity Hospital in Hermiston. Jan. 5: Morrow County Sheriff's office dispatched the Boardman ambulance to a resi dence on Kincade for a two year old child with an un known illness. No transport was made; Jan. 9: Morrow County depu Morrow County deputy responded to a report of a mo ty responded to an Irrigon resi tor vehicle accident on High dence for a family disturbance; Morrow County deputy way 207 just north of Lexing ton. Jan. 12: Morrow County Sheriff's office dispatched the Boardman ambulance and Fire Dept, to Dodge City Inn for a reported gas leak fire in the kit chen. No damage was reported and the gas was shut down; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Arlington ambulance to a single vehicle accident on Highway 74 mile post 5. Jan. 13: Morrow County deputy began an investigation of Criminal Mischief at an lone residence; Morrow County deputy assisted the Boardman Police Dept, with a physical distur bance on Wilson Road. Jan. 14: Morrow County deputy responded to an Irrigon residence to assist with an am bulance dispatched for an adult female with an illness. No transport was made; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Arlington ambulance to a residence at Riveria Trailer Court for an adult male with an illness. The patient was transported to Mid- Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles; Morrow County deputy be gan an investigation of illegal dumping in the Irrigon area; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Boardman Fire Dept, to a Nomad resi dence for a electrical fire-fur nace problem. They were unable to locate the fire; Morrow County deputy responded to the Anderson Road area to assist the Board- man Police Dept, with a Do mestic Assault. Jan. 15: Morrow County Sheriff's office dispatched the Boardman ambulance to a Boardman residence for an adult female with an illness. The patient was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Hermiston; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Heppner Fire Dept, to a residence on South Chase Street for a struc ture fire; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Boardman ambulance to a residence on Hilltop Drive for a juvenile with an injury. The patient was transported to Good Shepherd Community Hospital in Herm iston; Morrow County deputy ar rested Christopher W. Lyons, 23, Irrigon, on a Umatilla Coun ty warrant for Driving while Under the Influence of Intox icants. Lyons was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail; Morrow County deputy took a report of theft from Irrigon; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Heppner Fire Dept, to a flare-up of the earlier fire on South Chase Street. Jan. 16: Morrow County de puty began an investigation of the theft of a battery stolen from a vehicle at the school bus shed, Heppner; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Arlington ambulance to Chemical Waste Management for a male with an illness. The patient was trans ported to Mid-Columbia Medi cal Center in The Dalles. Jan. 17: Morrow County deputy responded to Wilson Road in the Boardman area for an animal problem; Morrow County deputy responded to a report of a prowler in the area of Paterson Ferry Road, Irrigon; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the lone Emer gency Medical Technicians and the Heppner ambulance to a residence in lone for a female with an unknown illness. The patient was transported to the Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Arlington Fire Dept, for a vehicle fire on 1-84 westbound milepost 149; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice received a report of a theft from the Irrigon area. Jan. 18: Morrow County Sheriff's office dispatched the Spray ambulance to Winlock Lane in Spray for a male with a twisted knee. No transport was made; Morrow County deputy re sponded to the Irrigon area for a neighborhood disturbance; Morrow County Sheriff's of fice dispatched the Arlington Fire Dept, to the scene of a semi-truck jackknifed on 1-84 eastbound at milepost 145. A diesel spill occurred. Jan. 19: Morrow County deputy assisted with a jackknif ed semi-truck on 1-84 milepost 167. No injuries occurred. Jan. 20: Morrow County de puty responded to an Irrigon business to assist a citizen; Morrow County deputy began a criminal mischief investiga tion on Highway 207 milepost 7. Jan. 21: Morrow County deputy assisted a citizen (with no tail lights) by following him into Irrigon; Morrow County deputy assisted a citizen on 1-84 east bound milepost 145 by calling a tow truck. N Jan. 22: Morrow County Sheriff's office dispatched the Fossil Fire Dept, for a fire alarm at the grade school. It was a false alarm; Morrow County deputy assisted a disabled log truck near the Lexington area; Morrow County deputy began a investigation of a theft at Western Empire in Irrigon; Morrow County deputy re sponded to a report of van dalism at Cutsforth Park near Heppner; Morrow County deputy took a report of vandalism at a resi dence in Irrigon; Morrow County deputy took a complaint of prank phone calls in the Irrigon area; Morrow County deputy responded to the Irrigon area for a report of criminal mis chief; Morrow County deputy responded to an Irrigon resi dence for a domestic distur bance. Jan. 23: Morrow County deputy responded to a Board- man business to assist with a security complainant. Thirty-one volunteers from 16 different counties were distin guished during the awards banquet for serving anywhere from two to over 40 years with OSU Extension Service. “ Glaya Baker's volunteer commitments have been tre mendous," said Bill Broderick, Morrow County Extension agent. “ Baker has been a leader for six years. She has worked with the entire 4-H program in cluding serving as 4-H Leaders Council president, Tri-County 4-H Camp nurse, Snack Shack coordinator, in addition to lead ing numerous other 4-H ac tivities." Evans has led a 4-H sheep club with about 34 members for nine years. “ In this process, she has developed an expecta tion for excellence and then has worked with her members to achieve that very high stan dard," said Broderick. “ Evans I has also been very involved with the Leaders Council. She serves as treasurer and has chaired many committees." lone students named Blazer- Avia essay contest winners • Three lone Elementary stu dents, Cameron Krebs, Meg han McCabe and Alyssa Riet- mann, were selected as first place regional winners in the Blazer-Avia essay contest. This year's topic was “ What I Like About Myself". The students competed with students in Morrow and Umatilla counties. The winning essays will com pete in the state competition. Krebs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clint Krebs, was first place win ner in the fifth grade division. McCabe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ashley McCabe, won first place in the fourth grade com petition. Rietmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Rietmann, was the first place winner in the third grade competition. The students were awarded Blazer pen and pencil sets by Diana Kincaid, the Talented and Gifted coordinator, in an assembly. The purpose of the contest is to encourage and re ward good writing skills.
